General...
When you enter Glacier Bay in southeast Alaska the glacier you will see is fairly young, just 200 years old. However, within this bay there is much more and you are in for the treat of a lifetime. Glacier Bay National Park boasts 16 of these glaciers - some much, much older than 200 years. Twelve of these glaciers calve icebergs into the bay. This is an unbelievable sight, where great pieces of ice up to 200 feet high crash into the water.
Scenery and Wildlife... Then of course there is the other scenery that nature offers here. Wildflowers bloom during the summer months on the rocky mounds of earth left behind by retreating glaciers. Wildlife roams throughout this great land such as bears, moose, deer and mountain goats.
Then you have the show put on by the seal animals, such as the whales. Stellar seals and porpoise swim within the water and in the air you will see the Great Bald Eagle soaring through the arctic air and frolicking in its freshness.
