Wildlife...
You will find wildlife in abundance around the Hubbard Glacier and in the backcountry of Yakutat. Bears, moose, lynx, fox, and deer roam freely. In the blanket of the Pacific Ocean, you may see a whale soar out of the water to splash wildly on the surface. You can also watch the Stellar seals that inhabit this area as they dive and swim below your cruise ship.
For the bird watcher, you have entered a paradise that holds over 600 Bald Eagles, which are on the endangered species list. Watch as they soar to the high heavens only to dive to the sea below them. See the many other species of birds that this wonderfully wild paradise holds
Hubbard Glacier...
If you can find the time, a must see is Hubbard Glacier from the air. These trips can be taken from a tour helicopter. Then you can see how massive a glacier can be. See the actual formation and the path it takes from the mountains to the sea. You can take the tour from Yakutat and although it only takes an hour, you will witness sights you never thought possible.
