All About Fremantle

As you sail into Fremantle Harbour, the first thing that will catch your eye is the three harbours - Challenger Harbour on the north end, Freemantle Success Harbour to the South and the pride of Fremantle,The Fishing Harbour in the center. Although this is the first thing you see, it is by no means all there is to see in this amazing city. This historic port holds many treasures to assure you’ll have a wonderful time. Fremantle is located twenty kilometers along the Swan River from Perth and is the largest port in Western Australia. Here you will experience the cozy, relaxed atmosphere that will give you a feeling of home but with many more options.

What Fremantle Has To Offer:
Stroll through the quaint streets of this wonderful city and see its colonial heritage buildings. Visit The Old customs House, The Old Fremantle Fire Station, The Round House or the Western Australia Maritime Museum. Take a walk through Fremantle’s past and see where it evolved from and what made it the vibrant city it has become today. A must see on your journey through its history is the Esplanade Hotel, with its magnificent example of the colonial period.

The markets of Fremantle
On the corner of Henderson St. and South Terrace, you will be in for a wonderful surprise. Among the Victorian buildings, you will find several hundred stalls with a wide variety of products for sale. This is one of Fremantle’s biggest attractions. Here you will find fish of all kinds, spices with their aroma hanging in the air as you pass by, antiques that will more than peak your interest and crafts made locally by some of the people.

You can purchase unique gifts that will delight anyone that’s waiting at home for your return. After all of this sit yourself down at the Sail and Anchor Pub for a chat with the locals and a cool one.

Attractions of Fremantle
Take a quick river cruise around the harbour and get a closer look at what is happening here. Cruise over to the wine valley region and soak up the beauty that lies in this area and you can even go as far as Perth on the same boat. Whale watching tours are available and this will thrill you to witness these giants of the deep playing and frolicking on top of the water.

It is an unforgettable sight. This is only a fraction of what this city offers. It will send you back to your ship making plans to take the same cruise all over again in the near future.
