Curacao Cruise Guide

Where is Curacao?

Curacao lies just 12 miles from the Equator in the beautiful Caribbean. It has a warm sunny climate all year around and is just 44 miles north of South America. Sailing into Curacao for the first thing, your first sight is the Queen Emma Bridge, which is the gateway to Willemstad. This bridge is unique in that it is a floating bridge. The next thing you notice is the truly Dutch influence of this city lasting from the days gone by when the Dutch inhabited this island. The architecture here is truly Dutch.

What to do in Curacao
Curacao offers many things to see and do on your visit here. Here you will find Venezuelan and Colombian boats docked to sell their vegetables and fruits. It is a sight that you won't want to miss. Visit the oldest Synagogue in the West – the Mikve Israel Emanuel Synagogue dating from 1732 and boasting the old world style. Drop by the Curacao Museum, where you will find a bit of Curacao's past and what makes this island what it is today.

Then there is shopping in Willemstad, which will be an experience on its own. Take a hiking trail to the mountains, explore a cave or walk the sandy beaches. IF you love the water, dive to the other world of Curacao and see what lives beneath its waves. You will not be disappointed with the array of activities that you will find here.

Dining and Nightlife in Curacao
Dining in Curacao is an experience in itself. Dutch food is at the top of the menu, which includes fresh seafood and cheeses. You will also find Creole, French, Italian and many more kinds of cuisines. The many restaurants here stretch from the informal to the very expensive. You can enjoy an evening of elegant dining or kick back and relax in one of the many bistros.

After dining, explore the nightlife of Curacao by visiting one of the many pubs or clubs and set your feet tapping to the music. If this is not your style, then drop into one of the fine casinos. You will leave a winner no matter if you win or lose with lady luck with the fun you will have at the casino tables.
