Tortola Cruise Guide

Where is Tortola ?
Tortola lies in the Caribbean and is the largest of the British Virgin Islands . It is a gem in the Ocean and has something to offer everyone. You won't experience large crowds here, but what you will experience is the peacefulness of a island that is yet unspoiled by man. It is a Garden of Eden - your part of paradise during your stay. As you sail into the bay you will be breathless with the view. You will be anxious to get ashore to explore and find out what Tortola is all about.

Activities at Tortola
Tortola has rugged mountain peaks on the southern coast and white soft sandy beaches and tall shady palm trees on the northern end. This makes for enough diversity to keep you busy for however long you intend to stay. Tortola holds the Capital of the British Virgin Islands, called Road Town , but be forewarned that Road town is a busy place. You can either go north or west to find solitude.

There you will find roomy beaches where you can swim, fish, snorkel, dive or any other water sport that comes to mind. You will also find thirteen marinas strung out along the coast. Towering over all of this is the 1710-foot Mount Sage waiting for you to hike up and conquer it. Visit the caves that are asking to be explored or the Botanical Gardens. You will see nature at its best in your visit here.

Dining and Nightlife
Here the name of the game is casual, so don't go through the effort to dress formal. You won't find any place to wear it. Try dining on a romantic cobble stone terrace with exotic foods on the menu. IIf you find yourself in a hurry pick up a bite from the many take outs that this island holds. Dine on a 1337-foot peak where the spectacular view is as good as the food you dine on. Try stewed conch along with burgers - your pallet is in for some delightful dining.

Step out into another world as the sun goes down. Visit one of the many clubs you will find here but make sure you are ready to dance with the deep beat of the calypso drums or reggae. You will be in for a night's entertainment that will be with you forever tucked away in memories.
