Malaga Cruise Destinations

Malaga
Malaga is the capital of Costa Del Sol . Its airport provides a gateway to all other towns. It is the largest airport in Spain and in a typical year some 10 million visitors pass through. This city has it all from historical monuments, cathedrals to panoramic views that are spectacular. With a climate that is wonderfully mild your stay will be very comfortable combined with unlimited beaches, natural parks, and many museums. This will be your dream vacation. Its towns and cities holds a beauty all their own and a history to match each one of them. It is the ideal place to spend the ideal vacation. Malaga is located in the southern part of Spain on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is the biggest coastal city in the south. It has a population of 600,000 residents.

Tourist Attractions

La Alcazaba
This wonderful place is a must with its spectacular sight on a hill overlooking the town. It was built from 1040 onwards and is one of the largest Muslim military buildings preserved in Spain . It was once used as an Arab Malaka defensive system and was linked to the town's ramparts, which have disappeared over time. This awesome building is made up of a double encircling wall and rectangular towers. As you walk up to this site you will appreciate the view of the remains of brick wall that still cling to the hill. Fortified gates with columns and Roman Capitals designate this pleasant walk and with the added maze of gates and nooks it serves to fascinate the visitor even more. When you cross the Christ Arch where the first mass of the reconquest was celebrated, an Arab garden unfolds to give you sights and smells that are unforgettable. Of course, from the top of this wall you will get a staggering view of the city below and you will also find there is an Archaeological Museum , the Roman Theatre and the Gibralfaro Castle .

The Cathedral
The construction of this Cathedral started in the 16 th century and lasted until the 18 th century, which gives it a mixture of styles that is very apparent today with the Renaissance being the most predominate. The lower parts of this Cathedral are Gothic with the coverings and facades being Baroque. From the outside you will see an unfinished tower and three very decorative doors, which are in different colors of marble, the relief painting of the Incarnation and the name of the Cathedral. Inside you will be overwhelmed with the size of the church. This is something that can't be missed in your travels and something that you will find irresistibly fascinating.
