Tourist attractions
The Cathedral This is one of Palma most beautiful sights. It is a Gothic style cathedral that was built in the 13th century and has high arches and very elegant columns. Within these walls you will find many interesting tombs such as those Jaime I and Jaime III of Mallorca . You can also take a walk into the past by visiting the museum located inside the cathedral. Right next to the cathedral is the Palau de l'Alamudaina, which was the royal residence in the Middle Ages. Today, it houses an interesting museum. Most of these must be seen to realize how much beauty this island holds.
The Town Hall This 17th-century building is charming and full of character. The locals love to sit on the stone benches that surround it. The only way to see the old town is by walking, but when you turn every corner you will find something new and exciting or rather old and exciting. There is always a place to rest in the quietness of a plaza or a park. No matter where you stay on this wonderful island you will find that it is very accessible by one of the thousand coaches that arrive here daily. As you walk through the town you will be ever reminded that this is a working fishing village and you can see this by the amount of boats in the harbor.
The Arab Baths This is something that you may thoroughly enjoy. The baths are hidden away in tiny streets east of the cathedral and date from the 10th century. You will find that these baths are surrounded by spectacular gardens and the inside of the baths are much the same as when they were built. These baths are open from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and the price is very reasonable to visit here.
