Welcome to Foat's review of the Thomson, Thomson Celebration. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Thomson Celebration Reviews & Thomson Celebration ship reviews.
Have recently returned from a 7 day cruise on the Red Sea. We boarded at Hurgada and visited Jordan, Sharme El Sheik, Cairo and back to Hurgada.
The food aboard the ship could not be faulted there was something for everyone. We dined at the Waiter Service Restaurant but had we wanted to we could have eaten at the self service. The food in both restaurants was excellent.
All of the staff and the crew could not have been more helpful or polite.
We had an outside cabin on deck 3 which was very spacious and always kept clean and tidy by our cabin boy. Every night we had a chocolate placed on our pillow before retiring.
The activities aboard were varied, something for everyone. We did not take part in any however we were too busy exploring the ports of call or sunbathing on deck.
I would say the shore excursions were well organised although a little expensive. We went to Perta when we were in Jordan and would really liked to have visited the Dead Sea but could not do both. The Cairo trip was a real rip off. No sooner had we boarded the coach then the guide started to try to sell things. The visit to Cairo Museum was very rushed as were the Pyramid and the Sphinx. However there was no rush when it came to visit the jewellery and perfume shop, I wonder why, could the Guide be on commission?
The evening entertaiment was very good, live musicals etc. During the day we had live Jazz bands playing outside. There was live music in all bars which catered for all tastes.
Overall I would say this ship is suited to the over 40s although there were some younger passengers and a few children which we hardly ever saw.
I would certainly travel aboard this ship again I can truthfully say I could find no faults or complaints about anything, we had a fantastic time.
