Welcome to Jay's review of the Carnival Cruise Lines, Carnival Legend. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Carnival Legend Reviews & Carnival Legend ship reviews.
The Carnival Legend is a gorgeous ship. This is a big compliment as I have sailed over 12 times with HAL and find them to be very classy. CCL has a reputation of catering to the young, but certainly appears to have a more mature, upscale feel to the decor on this ship. The fabrics and colors are very appealing and pleasing. Embarkation at Ft. Lauderdale was long and messy but once onboard, the cabin (with a balcony, highly recommended and WORTH every penny!) was lovely and spacious, especially the bathroom compared to other lines. We had 2 young children (active and messy) so we ate mainly at the Unicorn Cafe (alternative to formal dining room) and the food was excellent and the service A+. Room service is A+ and comes w/i 30 minutes -amazing! *NOTE* This ship has the \"Golden Fleece\" restaurant which is a specialty restaurant you pay extra for.
There is also another cafe for milkshakes, espresso and premium desserts offered at an additional charge (i.e. cookie $1, milkshake $3.50). They also have Pay Per View movies ($8.99) to view in room and you can check your onboard account and book your shore excursions via your in cabin TV which is so great, convenient and better than I have seen on other lines.
Cabin stewards are excellent. Most of the ship filled with Floridians, so they must advertise and discount to home porters. Nice mix of ethnic and age groups. Excellent variety of food choices - there is always food options for everyone!
