This cruise went from Buenos Aires, around the Horn, to
Santiago, Chili. This was probably the worst cruise we have ever taken and ours was not the only opinion of this. At least half of the passengers felt that they would never sail on NCL again. Free-Style Cruising is a joke. NCL charges each person $10 per day for service to \"free the passengers from the agony of tipping at the end of the cruise\" This is all well and good, except this does not provide any incentive for either the wait staff or the room attendants to provide decent service. We were suprised to find and none of the staff greated you or even smiled at you when passing in the hall. Also, staff would use the elevators reserved for passengers - somethin I have never witnessed. Food service was exceedingly slow - breakfast coffee served 15 minutes after obtaining food from the buffet line.
This experience with NCL was far below the excellent experiences we have had on other cruise lines. If you want a pleasant time and be taken care of/pampered as you expect-and pay for-please do not cruise NCL!
Also - do not let NKC book you airfair. We were able to get the same flights from American Airlines for $900 less!
