Welcome to Lin Davis's review of the Royal Caribbean International, Adventure of the Seas. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Adventure of the Seas Reviews & Adventure of the Seas ship reviews.
The sship was INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS- NOT LISTED ON SITE.
We sailed from Southampton on a 2 week med cruise. It was a total disappointment and we were glad when it ended! The ship was horrendously overcrowded, breakfast and lunch was a bun fight in the Windjammer Cafe, with too many people, too few tables and mundane food. Forget a nice quiet relaxed lunch, you will be forced to share your table, you will be asked to leave as soon as you have finished eating, and expect to wander about aimlessly for up to 20 minutes trying to find somewhere to sit and eat in the morning. The ship was best described by other disgruntled passengers as a glorified \'Bultins on Sea\', and this best describes the passengers they are attracting. At times I felt that I was in a UK High street on a Friday night watching the joybs get drunk and misbehave. It is the first time that I have had to move seats in the theatre due to other guests picking each others nits, putting on deoderant (as they smelt- their comment not mine) and wearing faded denim mini skirts with tiny tiny tops, lots of glitters and all their lovely fat flesh out and hanging- and this was on the so called \'formal\' nights. I could go on and on and on.... but suffice to say \'You have been warned, this is not for any cruiser who expects a certain 4 or 5* standard in cruising and in their fellow guests... you WILL be very disappointed and upset, as we were.
Positives
The main dining room food was excellent, service was superb. Staff in general were very good if dismayed by the lowering of passenger standards of decorum and standards of behaviour.
Negatives
Overcrowded
A two star experience entertainment wise, and you have to fight for a seat in the theatre or get there at least 30 minutes before the show starts. There is not a live show every night either, lots of kareoke and \'street parties\'- basically people dressed up in costume dancing badly to music.
