Welcome to Lisa Cardona's review of the Carnival Cruise Lines, Carnival Miracle. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Carnival Miracle Reviews & Carnival Miracle ship reviews.
This was my family\'s first cruise so I did all kinds of reserch before booking with Carnival. I\'m happy to say I wasn\'t disapointed. We live right across the river in NJ so traveling to the pier was a snap. Embarkation was pretty smooth (get there at least 3 hours before the boat sails). We were there at 11:30, they started embarkation at 12:15 and by 1pm we were on the Lido deck eating lunch. They have a main dining room, a buffet type restaurant on the Lido deck and a private (reservations only and they charge you $30 per person) supper club. Although the food in the main dining room was very good they only offer \"free\" water and unsweetened ice tea so that the guests buy their drinks from the bar. but the Lido deck \"Horatio\'s restaurant\" does offer a lot more \"free\" beverage choices and what was really nice is that the majority is open most of the day till 11:30pm afterwhich you can still get pizza and ice cream. The shows were really great, the staterooms were small but had a nice TV, lot\'s of closet space (bring hangers) and a safe. The excersions were fantastic and the crew were all very attentive and courteous.
Positives
the rooms get cleaned 2-3 times daily, they leave a really cool towel animal on your bed every night and chocolates. The food is good but they mostly have gormet choices (not for everyone least of all my family) so we ate at the buffet restaurant where they had more (blue collar) meal choices. Excersions were fantastic, we went parasailing, beginners scuba diving and swimming with the dolphins. If you book through Carnival they pick you up at the ship and drop you off. You can take food to your room (from the Lido deck buffet rest so you don\'t have to pay the 15% gratuity to room service).
Negatives
Not enough food choices in the main dining room, soft drinks are about $2.00 a glass, drinks are from $3.75-6.76 each, you can buy a bottle of liquor on board but they keep it till the end of the cruise, the pools are usually crowded and are not bery big. They\'re also filled with salt water. The jacuzzi\'s are pretty cool.
