Welcome to Nancy's review of the Princess, Caribbean Princess. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Caribbean Princess Reviews & Caribbean Princess ship reviews.
This was my very first cruise, but not to be my last for sure. I read up on lots of cruises over the years and I was really looking forward to this. Alaska would not have been my first choice, but I\'m so glad I did it. It was by chance that I ended up going on this one.
It was a very long first day with all the flying involved, and when we finally got to the ship (In Anchorage, Alaska) we were very tired. I would make a change to how they do things here. We all had to stand in the huge line with all our carry on luggage and wait for a person to become available to get us signed in and give us our cabin keys etc. I think it would be a huge positive action to give people a number as they enter the building and then have seats to sit on to wait for your number to be called....
I was not disappointed in the rest of the entire experience. Yes, we brought our own liquor...packed in our luggage not our carry on and no one ever asked about it. The ship is lovely and elegant. The food was fantastic.....lots and lots of seafood...everynight. We opted for the casual dining and made a reservation at one of the dining rooms every night other than our first. We did end up at the buffets for breakfast and some days there were many people doing the same thing, but the lines moved quickly and we never had a problem getting a nice seat.
The glaciers were spectacular and we saw lots of whales and sea lions.
I\'m a warm climate baby, but I\'m so glad I did this trip and think it should not be missed by anyone.
My next cruise will be south.
Positives
The total experience, the glaciers, the mountains, the food, the company.
Negatives
The process of getting on the ship the first time and off the last time....
