We\'ve sailed Carnival many times before, but this will be the last. Food was good, although lines for the breakfast buffet were a nightmare, no matter what time. When we tried the dining room one morning, it took them over 30 minutes to get breakfast out to us, nearly missing our shore excusion. And while you may consider this a \"fun ship,\" the emphasis on drinking is excessive. Many, many people unable to hold their liquor on this cruise. One drunken lady sat herself in our group one night at a show and would only leave us alone when her friends pulled her away. As an added bonus, the purser\'s desk messed up a separate account we had set up for the art auctions. We had loaded a number of Visa Gift Cards on this account, but when it came time to settle the account, the purser said that the cards were not valid. (They were, we found out later. They had just screwed up the account.) No one from accounting would help us, and the art auctioneer was called. He stood in the middle of the lobby and screamed at us that we were pathetic because we didn\'t have any other way to pay for the artwork we had won. We tried to explain to him that they were charging our Visa cards incorrectly, but he just stormed off. And as an added bonus, one of the porters told us we could place our box of liquor in a suitcase \"because the ship packages them well. Nothing will happen to them.\" The liquor was in a box, secure, surrounded by thick clothing. Yet they managed to shatter (not just break) a bottle, which ruined out suitcase and the contents. When we filed a complaint, Carnival told us that it would take 4-6 weeks, and that they weren\'t responsible for how they handled out luggage.
Positives
Very good evening dinners, excellent dining room service. Our room was exceptionally clean and our porter took very good care of us.
Negatives
See the above. An inept purser\'s desk, rudeness from the Park West Gallery employee, mishandled luggage, and definitely not a \"family\" atmosphere with all the drinking going on.
