Welcome to Roger Johnson's review of the Royal Caribbean International, Adventure of the Seas. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Adventure of the Seas Reviews & Adventure of the Seas ship reviews.
I have sailed with five different cruise lines. Royal Caribbean was undoubtedly the worst. The ship, Adventure of the Seas, was overcrowded, so much so that it was impossible to find a chair or lounge on deck when out to sea, furthermore there was no place to even set a towel down if you decided to give up the search for a chair. The food was terrible. Same breakfast buffet each day that was very basic. Very little variation in the lunch buffet, and not good. Dinner was sub-par on most nights. They were constantly trying to sell you overpriced junk. My wife went for a massage and instead of having a relaxing massage she advised me that the whole time the masseuse was trying to sell her some sort of expensive “snake oil” to rub on her skin to dissolve fat. I have been going to the gym for 25 years and know all about supplements, etc... an employee of the gym told me that for $700 he could show me how to detoxify my body-what a bunch of BS. The price of drinks was outrages. There was no food or free drinks on deck. While on deck my wife ordered a mixed drink and I ordered an iced tea (ice tea is free), the waiter wouldn’t bring me an iced tea and told me that I had to go into the restaurant to get it. They sell bottled water as you get off the ship at the islands. You pick it out of an ice tray yourself - $3.50 + 15% gratuity. I could go on and on. Both my wife and I agreed that we would never go on another Royal Caribbean ship- it was terrible. I would have had a better time at home.
