Welcome to Steve Paul's review of the Carnival Cruise Lines, Carnival Miracle. ReviewThatCruise.com is first for Carnival Miracle Reviews & Carnival Miracle ship reviews.
We\'ve been on four cruises, and all through Carnival. Up until this past cruise, we\'ve been pretty satisfied.
Positives
Food and services were as we\'ve come to expect (nice enough). Activities are also about what we\'ve seen before (minimal and a bit repetitive since they are about the same on every cruise). We are pretty much happy with that, though, as we prefer the cabin and balcony for relaxation and the private view.
Negatives
Our cabin (8227) had a terrible smell (like greasy apples going bad mixed with fuel exhaust). The first day was really bad - but we assumed it was from port. As the week wore on, I couldn\'t sleep past 4:00am and had to either sit on the balcony or haunt the ship until the day got started. I was able to sleep during the excursions (somewhat). Complaints to the purser were met only with sympathy and smiles (oh, plus form letters apologizing for any \"inconvenience\"). Had I known this was a possibility, I would NOT have gone on this trip (total deal-breaker). Whatever fun or enjoyment I was able to get was tainted by the fact that I knew I\'d have to go back to that smelly room.
Others had complained (we overheard someone yelling about the smell from their cabin) and the purser admitted that 8229 had also come down to complain about the smell. There was even a \"bounce\" dryer sheet stuck in our vent - so I assume that was from previous guests who stayed in our cabin.
Our form letter states that \"Our guests are important to us and we appreciate your patronage.\" Indeed. Carnival has a pretty good reputation, and we have enjoyed the cruises when everything goes well, but be warned, if things go bad... they aren\'t prepared to do much more than exchange your complaints with form letters. But try to find comfort in knowing how much they appreciate your patronage.
