Named for the Queen’s residence, cruising with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines on the Balmoral will provide you with a stately and elegant cruising experience. Although this ship is slightly larger than others in the line, it is still small enough to give you the vacation of a lifetime without feeling you are set adrift at sea. The homey atmosphere of the cruise line is evident on this ship with staff ready to assist you with every need. Families, singles and couples find something to suit their individual tastes on board. Relax in your own way and take part in a variety of activities, all of which are designed to draw you back time after time. Currently operating as the Norwegian Crown, this ship will be transferred to the Fred Olsen Lines and renamed in 2007.
Accommodations
With the wide range of accommodation on the Balmoral, you are sure to find something geared to your taste and budget. Choose the luxurious and roomy Premier or Marquee Suites or something a little cheaper and smaller with the superior outside or inside cabins. Many of the outside cabins have portholes rather than picture windows, but these still afford you a glorious look at the ocean as you sail along. All cabins contain the standard amenities, such as air-conditioning, safes, TV’s and hairdryers. There is ample closet space allowing you to unpack and hang your clothes for the duration of the cruise. Four of the cabins are fitted for the disabled. With 523 cabins, this ship can well accommodate more than 1000 guests.
Dining
For elegance in dining, you can’t beat the main dining room on the Balmoral. Here you will taste the best of British cuisine with its assigned seating in the evening. This restaurant has not been named yet, but will offer an impressive range of dining choices. If you prefer something more casual, the Yacht Club Café and the Marquee Grill Bar are sure to suit your taste. At the marquee Grill you can enjoy a snack in the sun by the side of the pool.
Entertainment
Spend your days lazing around the pool soaking up the rays of the sun or engaging in a variety of activities designed for your comfort and entertainment. The public rooms boast an inviting atmosphere and comfy chairs where you can curl up with a good book or enjoy a lively conversation with your newfound friends. Bars and lounges abound where you can enjoy a drink at the bar or listen to the music. Play card in the card room, take in the delights of the spa and gym or enjoy shopping on the main Deck. Nightly entertainment is the name of the game at the Neptune Lounge or sing along to the music of the piano.
