Carnival Glory Description

Carnival Glory

One of the most colorful cruise ships afloat, Carnival Glory went into service in 2003. Each room of this ship features a different color of the rainbow and features an atmosphere that will give you the cruise vacation of a lifetime. Whether you are traveling alone, with a special partner or as a family, you will find that Glory has something to offer you. Choose a cruise to Eastern or Western Caribbean at any time of the year and soak up the varied lifestyle of the islands as you bask in the friendly atmosphere and sunshine.

Accommodations

Well over half of the almost 1500 cabins on Carnival Glory offer a glorious view of the ocean as you sail along and over half of these have a balcony where you can actually sit outside in privacy. There are 18 staterooms designed especially for families, but for obvious reasons, these do not feature balconies. Another exciting factor is their proximity to Children’s World. Choose accommodations ranging from penthouse suites to inside cabins, depending, of course, on your cruising budget.

The large bathrooms in all cabins have the usual array of amenities, but these are not replenished during the course of the cruise. Although only the suites have bathtubs, there are showers in all cabins. Cabins contain well-stocked mini bars, interactive TV and pay per view movies.

Dining

There is something for everyone in dining experiences on the Glory. Choose to dine in elegance at one of the formal dining rooms – Platinum and Golden – where the décor is inspired by Japanese temple architecture. Here you will find assigned seating at four different times. There are plenty of tables for two, which is the preference of honeymooners. Whether you are on a diet or prefer vegetarian cuisine, you will find menu choices geared to your taste.

The daily buffet at the Red Sail Restaurant usually draws a crowd for breakfast and lunch, but there is also a hamburger grill, an Asian station, and a seafood station featuring fish and chips. Pizza is available around the clock.

For $25 per person and personal service, you can dine at the Emerald Room Supper Club. This dining room is by reservation only and if you don’t make your reservations in the early part of your cruise, you may not be able to enjoy the specialty menu it offers. If you are a lover of ice cream, desserts or sushi, then you can have these delights onboard as well. Dine in your room through the 24 hour room service and if you get hungry late at night, you can even order a sandwich or salad.

Entertainment

Stay in touch with those at home through the Internet café or curl up with a good book from the Black and White Library. The casino is open daily, where you will be greeted by a kneeling camel to start your experience with an Egyptian style décor. Enjoy jazz at the Blue Bar, dance the night away at the White Heat Dance Club or just take in the sights from the Colors Lobby. Take in late night singing and dancing at the Ebony Cabaret surrounded by elephant t tusks in a room decorated in an African theme. If you prefer something more soothing relax in the piano bar or enjoy a smoke in the Ivory Club. The Boulevard shops offer duty free shopping where you will feel as if you are shopping on the streets of Paris.

The main time for nightly entertainment starts about 10 each night. There are 22 bars and lounges for you to enjoy or if you want a Vegas style performance, the Amber Palace is the main venue on the ship. With elaborate sets and costumes, you are sure to return for more than one show.

The Polynesian theme of the Spa Carnival will make you feel as if you are working out in paradise. With all sorts of fitness equipment, massage treatments, aerobics workouts and training sessions, you can eat the delicious food and work it off during the day. The large pool deck can easily accommodate all the passengers, so you won’t have to jostle for space. Get instruction in golf, take a jog around the track or play a game of basketball onboard.

Family

Families do not have to worry about their children being bored with Camp Carnival. Scheduled activities are geared for children aged 3 to 15 and there are supervised children’s dinners offered between 6 and 7 each evening. Group babysitting is available, but parents must make reservations in advance.

Dress

A typical 7 day cruise aboard Carnival Glory has two formal dress days. Although most men prefer suits, there is a tuxedo rental available. The dress code for the rest of the cruise is casual attire.
