This is one cruise ship where you can immerse yourself in the legends of old or make your own legends. Designed for singles, couples or families, this ship has everything you need for a vacation at sea. A full service spa, an area dedicated to children for play, sports, a fully stocked library and more await you when you book a cruise on the Legend from Carnival Cruise Lines. Choose a destination to Bermuda, Eastern or Southern Caribbean, the Panama Canal and Central America or even a Cruise to Nowhere depending on the time or year you wish to travel. The rooms on this ship each feature a different legend as part of its décor, which adds to the enchantment of the cruise. Large enough to have the full benefit of a cruise, the Legend is small enough so that it is not crowded and you can easily find your way around.
Accommodations
Just about all of the cabins on the Legend offer a view of the ocean and a large percentage of these boast an outside balcony. Some of them even feature a wraparound veranda. Twin beds can easily be converted to queen or king size beds or vice versa depending on individual situations. Whether or not you have a bathtub or a stand up shower also depends on the category of cabin that you book, but all bathrooms are quite roomy and contain the necessary amenities. The interior staterooms are spacious and provide plenty of space to allow you to unpack and feel right at home.
Dining
There are three main restaurants on the Legend as well as an eatery on the pool deck offering breakfast and lunch buffets. With seating for 1250, Truffles’ Restaurant has an elegant menu and an extensive wine list for you to choose from. If you prefer something more intimate, there is also a small supper restaurant, but you must make reservations to eat here in advance.
Entertainment
There is no lack of opportunities for entertainment on the Legend, whether it is during the day or the night. For families, there is a supervised program for children from 2 to 15. Children love Noah’s Ark, with its comfy couches and pillows. Computer games, video games and cartoons are available as well as an outdoor play area offering playground equipment and a mini-basketball court.
The two levels of the fitness center are fully equipped and as an added incentive, they offer an ocean view. This allows you to continue or start a workout routine and still enjoy all the facets of an ocean cruise. Have a stone therapy treatment or a body wrap or one of the 8 other treatments offered at the spa. A padded outside jogging track and a large pool lets you take advantage of standard cruise fare. The Camelot Pool even has a retractable cover so that you can swim during inclement weather.
There are 16 bars and lounges designed to suit any taste. The main show room on the Promenade Deck features shows created specifically for Carnival Legend. Feel as if you are in a real Mediterranean villa as you take in the productions. For soothing music, spend some time in the Satchmo’s Club or relax in comfort at the Dream Team Bar. Sing along to golden oldies at the piano bar or take in a late night comedy act in the Firebird Lounge. Dance the night away in Medusa’s Lair, where there is a wall of televisions and a sophisticated sound system. You may also get a touch of magic to help you become very lucky at the Club Merlin Casino.
Although the tone of dress is mostly casual, there is one formal night on the legend. The ship has a tuxedo rental, if you forget to pack your dress attire. In addition, there is a laundry and dry cleaning service, a beauty salon and duty free shopping.
