Enjoy the fictional icons of the Carnival Miracle – a ship that you will find easy to navigate. This is the fourth ship in the Carnival Line and features alternative and traditional restaurants as well as wedding chapels. Museum quality artwork adorns the walls as you experience the fun aboard the ship. Built in 2004, this is a fully modern ship with 12 passenger decks, duty free shops, beauty salons, programs for children and teens as well as opportunities for sports and fitness. Travel to the Western Caribbean stopping in such exotic places as Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize City and Costa Maya.
Accommodations
With more than 1000 staterooms on the Carnival Miracle, you can choose accommodations to suit your taste and budget. If you like watching the ocean as you sail along, this ship has more than 80% of its cabins with an ocean view. There are only slightly more than 200 cabins that are completely inside. You won’t have to worry about not being able to sleep because of the noise because the sound does not carry from room to room. If you want to darken the room, the heavy draperies do a wonderful job of blocking out the bright sunlight.
The beds in the cabins are thoroughly comfortable complete with a soft duvet that will entice you to rest. The cabins are well lit, furnished attractively and well laid out. The bathrooms are spacious and there are samples of toiletry products in each one at the start of the trip. These are not replenished during the voyage, so you will have to bring your own supplies. The beds convert from twin to queen or vice versa and the closet space is ample for the 7-day cruise. The cabins on the higher levels have a small sitting area and those with balconies have patio furniture for you to sit outside. The balconies are also separated so you have privacy from the other cabins.
Dining
There is only one main dining room on the Carnival Miracle, which is one of the disadvantages of this ship. However, it does have two levels and can accommodate all the passengers in two sittings. The line up, though, can get quite long and often extends into the nearby Metropolis Lounge. In spite of the crowds, dinner is a joyous occasion with outstanding service and food. The cuts of meat are hearty, so you will certainly have enough food on your plate.
The menus vary nightly and there is a children’s menu as well. For those that require a special diet or for vegetarians, there is something here for you too. Low-carb, fish, chicken, salad, pasta dishes – choose your own foods and eat to your heart’s delight. When it comes to breakfast, the menu is standard fare and does not vary throughout the week.
For an intimate dinner, try Dick & Nora’s. Even though the cost is $25 per person, you will find that the food is well worth the cost. Reservations are necessary for this restaurant and it is best if you do this as soon as you board the ship. Hpratio’s offers breakfast and lunch and there are many stations throughout the ship, particularly in the pool area. Here you will not find long lines and there are always plenty of tables available. For those late nights, there is a 24-hour pizzeria and ice cream bar, as well as 24-hour room service.
Entertainment
One thing is certain when you take a cruise on the Carnival Miracle and that is you won’t be bored. Meet in the Jeeves Lounge or the Gotham Lounge for pre-dinner drinks and relax to the strains of the piano. Enjoy scenes from the Great Gatsby at the outdoor promenade or enjoy the disco music at Frankenstein’s Lab – a two level disco with a dance floor. This is the scene of teen dances in the early evenings and for adults later at night.
Gift shops on the ship sell all manner of articles, so if there is something you forget you won’t have difficulty buying what you need. If you need to rent a tuxedo, there are facilities here for this too. Try your luck at Mr. Luck’s Casino or if you are into sports then Maquire’s Sports Bar is the place where avid sports fans will want to spend some time. The steak at Frankie’s and Johnny’s is divine and here you can enjoy the music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
For those that like to read, the Raven Library is well stocked, so you don’t have to try and bring all your own reading material. At the three-level main show lounge, you can enjoy full scale productions and is fashioned after a Parisian Opera House.
There are four pools on the Miracle, a ball court for basketball and soccer as well as a putting green. There are 10 private treatment rooms in the Spa and the multi-level fitness center is very impressive indeed. Take yoga and cycling classes here for only $10 each and if you like playing games, there is a games arcade for young and old alike.
Families really enjoy this cruise ship because of the services offered for children at Pinocchio’s Club where there are televisions, computers and an arcade dance simulation game. The children’s programs are geared to specific age groups, beginning with age 2 and extending to age 15. Babysitting services allow parents to have a night or two on their own, but you must make arrangements for this in advance.
There are two formal evenings on this cruise and all the rest are causal dress. The recommended gratuity is $10 per person, per day and on the last night of the cruise. You can put something extra in an envelope for the maitre d’. For room service, you should tip the server about a dollar or two.
