The Marina joined the Costa fleet in 1990 and was refurbished in 2002. Now it awaits your presence to give you an unforgettable cruise. There are 8 passenger decks for you to explore and a crew of 385 friendly staff that are there to pamper you and make sure you have a voyage to remember.
This ship is marketed exclusively to German passengers. It is a ship where glass plays a very important role in the design. You will see a glass enclosed roof to a slanted curved glass wall from over water runs into the swimming pool, which is quite impressive. The Costa Marina sails Europe in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter.
Accommodations
The Marina has a total of 388 accommodations of which there are 8 Suites, 22 ocean view doubles,64 inside cabins with two beds, 62 ocean view and 17 inside doubles with queen beds, 65 ocean view and 100 inside triple, 24 ocean view and 13 inside quads, and two ocean view with 11 inside singles so it should be fairly easy to find something to suit anyone’s budget. The cabins are spacious and have spacious bathrooms with showers.
Dining
You will be delighted with the dining on this ship. The Crystal Restaurant seats 440 people and once again this ship’s glass comes into play in the dining room. The outdoors is brought in by the many windows in this restaurant.
The Yacht Club Buffet serves more than casual food and serves up to 260 guest at a time. You can taste the delights of European culinary chefs from the schools of Europe and are members of Chaine des Rotisseurs. This should prove to be a treat in food tasting that is delightfully different.
Entertainment
Visiting Harry’s Bar is a must and it is a very popular place to be. It seats 170 people, which is cosy compared to some ships. You will find more lounges and bars on and around the marina and pool deck. For dancing and other entertainment, visit the Ballroom for a night of dancing or to watch performances.
If you are so inclined, you can drop into the Tropicana Showroom to try your hand at the tables or the slot machines for a night of gambling. This too is a very popular place. There is also a very intimate 16 seat card room for an evening of fun.
The highlight of the cruise is the Costa Toga Party, where togas are supplied to the guests by the crew. This makes for a spectacular night of fun and dancing. The Trevi Gallery is there for the avid shopper that wishes to buy day to day items or gifts to bring back home. The ship also has a chapel and a library for those quieter moments that guests may wish to enjoy.
There are separate swimming pools for kids and adults and the spa is enclosed in a cocoon of glass which makes it worth seeing. The ship has three Jacuzzis and a beauty centre plus a 250 meter jogging track. The fitness centre has equipment that can be keyed to your routine.
The children are not forgotten on this ship. In addition to the pool there is a children’s room that runs programs for the very young to the older children. When you’re in the Caribbean, parents’ night out is offered by the crew with supervised dining and entertainment. On other times, you can hire babysitters for your children.
