Crown Princess Description

Crown Princess

The first thing you will notice on this wonderful ship is the ambiance created between passengers , officers and crew and this makes for the most enjoyable and cozy trip you could ever take on a cruise. The Crown Princess offers a diverse program of entertainment, dining and just pure fun. This is no small feat with a ship this size, but it is accomplished here. You will love exploring the 15 decks of the ship and the crew of 1200 will make it so much more exciting by pampering you like you have never been pampered before.

Accommodations

This ship boasts a total of 1557 cabins in all categories of which 207 are Suites with balconies, 674 are Suites with balconies and an ocean view and 224 with an ocean view, but no balconies. The inside cabins measure 163 square feet, outsides measure 168 square feet, standard balcony cabins measure 233 square feet, which includes the veranda, mini Suites measure 323 square feet, Owners measure from 468 to 591 square feet and there are two family Suites onboard that measure 607 square feet. 25 of these Suites are designed for the physical handicapped.

All standard cabins include bathrooms with shower only, queen beds that can covert to twin beds when necessary, a small sofa which some turn into an extra bed, a desk and vanity area, a flat screen TV and a mini fridge and safe. The Suites that measure 323 come with separate living rooms with a full size couch, an extra chair and also an extra TV. The bathroom has a tub instead of a shower. With the Owners’ Suites you will find a few extra perks such as a separate sitting area, a DVD and MP3 Player, free laundry, free dry cleaning, and a more elaborate bathroom.

Dining

You will have the opportunity on this ship to dine at anytime or stick with the traditional modes of dining. At DaVinci’s there is a set time for dining while Michelangelo’s and Botticelli’s are open style restaurants. The most import thing is they all offer the same delicious menu, which follows a theme night so it stays surprisingly fresh each evening. There is also a very interesting vegetarian menu offered for those of you that wish to indulge in it. You will also find a fairly large amount of tables for sittings of two and four. One of the dining rooms serve breakfast lunch and dinner with open seating.

Look to Horizon Court for the best buffet that you could want. This are open for breakfast lunch and dinner. Then by the pool there is the Trident Grill, which offers burgers and fries, hot dogs, pizza and so much more. The Café Caribe offers themed buffets and lots of fun included and in the evening this place dons table cloths and a themed evening buffet. The Crown Grill offers great steaks, but is also a fish and chips kind of place. You will find the menus here a little funky, but they also offer standard menus. Sabitini’s is a wondrous place and is well worth the $20.00 surcharge that you’ll find there. The menus are innovative and delightful.

For a treat in designer coffee try the International Café. The smell alone is worth the trip to this place. If you’re into sushi, then try the Vines Wines and Seafood Bar. You can have room service, but if you’re ordering lobster dinner, then the charge for this is $50.00. There is also a breakfast, which can be served in your cabin if you have a balcony. The cost is $30.00 but the meal you get is worth it.

Entertainment

The Crown Princess Piazza is the place to be on this ship with its three story atrium. This place serves as an impromptu performance arena and is where the champagne waterfall takes place.

The biggest problem you will have on this ship is trying to figure out which spot for entertainment you want to choose, such as Crooners, which is the heart of the action. The Explorers Lounge offers art auctions and guest lectures and doubles as a movie theatre in the evening. Club Fusion offers such thing as bingo, line dancing and loads of other things. The Gatsby Casino has a duo of entertainment with live music as well as your choice of betting tables and slot machines.

Adagio is elegant and intimate, while the Ritz Carlton offers a cabaret and piano singer. The Princess Theatre offers production shows and comedy act. You’ll find a major attraction at the Calypso Pool, which goes on all day and sometimes into the night.

This ship offer the biggest variety of pools at sea such as The Neptune’s Reef Pool, where you can play water sports and the Calypso Reef and Pool, which have movies showing. There is also a pool in the aft of the ship and the Lotus Pool, which is attached to the Lotus Spa, which also has two whirlpools.

The sanctuary is a place to truly relax where you find waiters to tend to your every need. This place does have a surcharge of $15.00 for half a day but it is well worth the extra fee. You will find all the equipment you need to keep slim and trim at the fitness centre and lose all your stresses at the spa where you can get the Royal treatment if you want.

There is a very wide variety of programs for children, which makes this ship very family friendly. There is a new place called Remix that is loaded with games for the kids and they is a wonderful Youth Security Program.

You will have two formal nights on a nine day voyage and the level of formality can range from tux and gowns to jeans and T shirt. The daytime brings anything you want in dress. Tipping involves $10.00 per day per person with a 15 percent tip on bar bills.
