Crystal Serenity Description

Crystal Serenity

Step on board to a world that is filled with attention, good food and pampering as you sail over the blue waters on a cruise that will stand out forever in your memory. The Serenity joined the Crystal fleet in 2003 and awaits your presence to sail you into a world of luxury and leisure. There are 9 wonderful decks to explore and so much more offered on this ship and with a crew of 635 to see to your every need you are bound to have the time of your life. The out-of-this world service you will find here will astound you, the crew knows what you need almost before you do.

You’re in store for the best innovative service and excellent food that you’ll ever come across on a cruise. This ship carries 1080 passengers and still has an abundance of space for everyone’s needs. It usually goes on 11 cruises, but is now experimenting with 7 day cruises. Regardless of what you choose you are sure to be pleased.

Accommodations

Eight-five percent of the Serenity is , which is a very high rate among cruise liners and all cabins are outside. Of the total 548 accommodations, there are 100 suites with balconies,368 with balcony and ocean view, and 80 with ocean view and no balconies. This gives passengers some wonderful choices and something to fit ’ budget.

The size of the luxury suites range from staterooms that measure 226 square feet with balcony cabins being slightly bigger. Then there are the suites at 403 square feet and loads of amenities that go with them, such as butler service, which comes in handy if you need food service or anything else. These rooms have a sleeping room that you can curtain off from the living room. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower and there is a walk in closet and a full size couch. The Penthouse suites measure 538 square feet and offer a separate bedroom and are noticeably larger than the suites.

Then comes the luxury of luxury in the Penthouse of which there are only four on this ship. These measure 1,345 square feet and are worth every penny you pay for them. They are bigger than many New York apartments. They boast a king size bed and bigger balcony. They all come with marble bathrooms, whirlpool baths and separate showers. All cabins include TV, DVD and mini bar, but the main difference with the Penthouse is that everything is bigger. You will find that there are cabins on all levels that are handicapped accessible.

Dining

You will be delighted with the delicacies served in the Crystal Dining Room, which is the main dining room of the ship. Here there is elegance without the muss or fuss to take your attention away from the real reason you’re there and that is to experience the food. You will find open seating for breakfast and lunch and at night it is tradition all the way.

At breakfast you can have things such as eggs with truffles and chicken breast if you want them or lamb chops and sirloin or just the traditional breakfast of steak and eggs. The selection is endless. Lunch consist of sandwiches, soups, salads and hot entrees. You will always find something on the menu for the health conscious and the kids if they are with you.

Another option is the Bistro. Although it is a lot less formal than the main dining room, it still gives you a light flair buffet. For breakfast you can choose Bagels, lox, cereals and Danish and lunch gives you an array of salads and cold cuts to choose from. The Trident grill offers things like hamburgers and fries, hot dogs and pizza.

The Prego is a restaurant that takes reservations only and these should be made as soon as you board as this place gets booked up early in the cruise. This restaurant specializes in Northern Italian and Silk Road specializing in cuisine designed by Nobu Matsuhisa. Both of these places are exceptional and there is no extra charge to eat there, but it is custom to tip at least $6.00 per person.

Entertainment

This ship has two pools with the seahorse being the main one. It has a bandstand and two whirlpools. The Neptune, which is the other, lies under a sliding glass roof. The Serenity also boasts two tennis courts, a shuffleboard and you can circle a full lap around the deck. For the avid golfer, there are putting nets on deck A. you will be thrilled with the spa and salon that you will find here and the gym is outfitted with state of the art fitness equipment. For the children, there are two playrooms, which are Fantasia hosting the 3 to 7 year olds and Waves catering to the older kids. There are also Sony Play Stations and an arcade. There are many courses you can take on your cruise such as language courses, art workshops, computer skill, cooking, music and dancing.

The Palm Court will entertain you with classical music, torch songs and Broadway show tunes. The Pulse Disco will give you a fantastic fun karaoke night or you can opt for the Sunset Bar, which offers a spectacular view while you sip on an evening drink. The Galaxy Lounge offers you the opportunity to try your luck at the tables or the slot machines and is the ship’s main showroom.

On formal nights the dress is still long gowns for ladies and tuxedos for men, but the usual mode of dress is country club casual. The gratuities range from $ 4.00 a day for stewards and waiters, $2.00 a day for assistant waiters, and drinks are automatically 15 percent tips. The tips can be added to your on board account.
