Welcome aboard the Dawn Princess. If you’re looking for a cruise that has tradition and contemporary travel styles, this ship can supply it for you. The Dawn Princess is a wonderful midsize ship that offers all the comforts of home with additional excitement and pampering and the crew of 900 will make sure you gets just that. Explore the 10 passenger decks with delights around every corner.
Accommodations
There is a total of 975 accommodations of which there are 38 Suites with balconies, 372 with balconies and an ocean view, 193 with an ocean view but no balconies and 372 inside cabins. Standard outside cabins measure135 to 173square feet. You will find this ship has a wide variety of staterooms with private balconies. Balcony cabins measure178 square feet but this includes the balcony.
The Suites with balconies measure 374 to 754 square feet, which includes a sitting area with separate bedrooms and a marble bathroom. Plus there is a walk in closet and a whirlpool. There are also cabins that measure from135 to 148 square feet, and ADA cabins that measure 212 to 305 square feet. Each cabin deck has a Laundromat with ironing boards.
Dining
The main dining rooms on this ship are the Florentine and the Venetian, which are identical except for the décor and the art work that hangs there. These restaurants give an intimate feeling for dinner. You can find several tables for two or four and also tables for eight. The food is delightful and exquisitely presented and served. There is also a good variety of healthy foods on the menus.
If you’re looking for a more casual place to dine, then you can try Horizon Court, where they offer hot and cold breakfast along with European specialties. You can also get lunch here and at night it turns into a table service Bistro.
The La Scala Pizzeria is the place to be for lunch or dinner where you can have a taste of Italy. If you prefer burgers and fries or hot dogs, then you must try The Balcony Grill, which can fulfil all your needs.
Entertainment
Choose the entertainment that you want on the Dawn Princess, such as production revues, cabaret and comedy, ventriloquist and jugglers, and talented singers and dancers. They perform in the Vista and the Theatre. The Princess Theatre is one of the best production theatres afloat with state of the art lighting and sound. The Vista Lounge is more of a relaxed theatre, which is a little small for production shows, but offers so much more. Try Jammer’s Nightclub if you want to dance the night away and you can also partake in the Karaoke . Different nights offer different decades of music. Magnum’s offer a night of champagne and caviar. Try the Casino for a night of fun at the betting tables or the slot machines. The Atrium is a place you don’t want to miss and is a popular place for pre dinner or after dinner drinks.
Dawn’s fitness centre has state of the art equipment to help you stay slim and trim on your voyage. The Oasis Spa will take care of all the stresses that you brought with you, while the pool deck has a choice of three pools, one of which is shaded by a dome. You can also enjoy netted sports and a small golf centre with a simulator.
This is a very family friendly ship and offers many programs for the little ones as well as teens. The teens can visit the Fast Lane for games of all kinds. There is also group babysitting offered for a small fee.
There are two formal nights as well as a semi formal night. You can wear tuxes and gowns but a suit and dress will do fine. Tipping is $3.00 per day per person for stewards and waiters and $1.75 for assistants waiters. Tipping the head waiter and the Maitre d’ is left to the discretion of the passenger.
