Dining
You can choose your preference in dining when you book your cruise, such as traditional or personal choice dining. With personal choice dining you have the option of dining at four different restaurants without any surcharge, and with the traditional dining you get to dine at the International Dining room or Vavaldi, where there is early seating only. The International also serves breakfast and lunch with open seating.
The specialty on the menus are all the same, but there are specialty restaurants such as Santa Fe, Pacific Moon, and Vivaldi. Sterling Steakhouse, which is now called the Savoy, is a wonderful place, but carries a surcharge of $15.00. Horizon Court on the Lido Deck also offers breakfast and lunch buffet daily with seating inside or outside. Sabatini’s is a place you must not miss when dining. There is a $20.00 per person charge but it is well worth it when they’re serving some of their Italian Specials. You will also find room 24 hour room service to be very prompt and satisfying.
Entertainment
You will be amazed at what this ship has to offer in entertainment such as stage shows that are impressive as well as the Diamond Princess Orchestra that backs up a group of singers and dancers. In the Princess Theatre and the Explorer’s Lounge, you can see some wonderful comedians and comic magic. There is music everywhere on this ship, such as Crooners, where you can croon the night away. Enjoy karaoke at Explorers, quieter piano music at Sky walkers or catch Princess Idol at Club Fusion. The casino will give you hours of enjoyment, where you can choose from bingo, betting at the tables or trying the slot machines or the wooden horse races.
There is so much more to the Diamond such as shuffleboard, ping pong, basket and volleyball, line dancing classes, art auctions and seminars for you to experience. There are four pools., such as Neptune’s Pool and the Calypso Pool with a sliding glass roof. The kids get their own splash pool and the other pool is very near the spa.
Try the golf simulator that is onboard, as well as a jogging deck. The Spa is like stepping into another world, where you are pampered to the very depths of your being until all your stresses and cares flow away. Another good place to do this is the Terminal Sanctuary Suite.
With the 10,000 square feet of designated space for children, you can be sure that this is one family friendly ship. They will find all the entertainment they want at the Fun Zone and teens get activities such as the Dating Game, which is really popular.
On a seven day cruise you will have two formal nights and five smart casual nights. During the day resort casual is the norm. Tipping is $10.00 per day per person, but the bar bills carry a 15 percent to be paid upon receipt of the bill.
