Elation Description

Elation

This wonderful ship carries 2040 passengers and everyone of them will be sailing into a cruise of a lifetime when they board this wonderful liner. Elations is just a kid in the cruise world at just five and a half years old ,but it is everything anyone could want or expect from a cruise line. It truly does have many years of smooth sailing ahead.

The Elation has the distinction of being the first ship to have Azipods, which is a state of the art propulsion system that allows it to manoeuvre with ease. This will make your voyage truly smooth sailing. This ship went through a major refurbishing in 2003 and now is ready to compete with the best that sails the seas in cruises.

Accommodations

A total of 618 of the 1020 cabins that Elation carries have ocean views. The majority measure 185 square feet, and are furnished with king size beds that convert to twins. Other furnishings include a small desk and chair, telephone, TV, large closets, drawers that contain ample storage space, and bathrooms with a shower.

26 demi-suites measure 250 square feet, and 28 full suites that measure 400 square feet and come with a veranda and whirlpool baths. The service is excellent and you will find your room done twice a day. Another thrill for passengers are the creature shape towels and chocolates on your turned down bed in the evening.

Dining

The Elation carries two main dining rooms with assigned seating. The two dining rooms are Imagination on Atlantic Deck mid ship and Inspiration is on Atlantic deck aft. For breakfast and lunch you will find open seating at both restaurants. Each menu offers six or seven starters with a selection of six or seven main courses. Look for the Spa Carnival selection for low calorie and vegetarian.

If you’re looking for something a little less formal, then try the Tiffany restaurant on the Lido deck which offer both inside and poolside eating. There is also a 24 hour pizzeria, a sushi bar and 24 hour room service. Watch out for the midnight buffets on this ship they are a blast.

Entertainment

If it’s entertainment you’re looking for it’s entertainment you’ll get on this magnificent ship. Starting with a variety of live bands and every kind of music you can imagine is available from classical to rock and roll. Drop by Duke’s while they pay tribute to Duke Ellington, Romeos and Juliet’s will give you all the Karaoke you could want, while the Cole Porter Lounge offers performances in folk and country. The main entertainment takes place at the Makado, which is a Japanese inspired theatre that carries Las Vegas style revues and performances by musicians and comedians. There are loads of fun at the Casablanca Casino, where you can try your luck at the tables or one of the many slot machines that you‘ll find there.

Elation offers many daytime games and contests to keep you and the kids occupied with round the clock activity on this ship. The Spa Carnival has state of the art equipment to keep you thin and trim on your voyage. There is a jogging track, beauty salon, steam baths, saunas and many more things to be enjoyed. There are programs for the kids plus toys games and puzzles to mention a few. There are also children’s menus at the dining places.

There are two formal nights aboard this ship where tuxes and gowns are required other than that the dress code is casual. The usual tipping is $10.50 per person per day.
