Grand Princess Description

Grand Princess

If you’re looking for some rest and relaxation then sail into the sunset on the Grand Princess and what a grand ship she is! It is just waiting for you to come aboard and enjoy what she has to offer. With the 14 passenger decks, you will find different delights at every turn. With a crew of 1200, your needs will be met even before you realize what they are. This ship has step out balconies that adds to its beauty. This elegant ship had a facelift in 2004 and looks and feels very new with gorgeous design elements.

Accommodations

The Grand Princess features a total of 1300 accommodations. Of these 208 are suites with balconies, 502 have balconies and an ocean view, 218 have an ocean view, but no balconies and 372 are inside cabins. The cabins measure 165 square feet and are beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are adequate size with a sink, toilet and shower, but you will find the lighting a bit dim. They also have tiled trim and floor. The twin beds can convert to queen size when necessary and the cabin itself has a small desk and a table, which is good for room service.

Suite have an entry foyer, separate bedrooms and a bathroom that is nothing short of elaborate with a whirlpool included. With the mini Suites you get an extended cabin with a sofa and a divider between the sitting room and the bedroom. The bathroom in this cabin is also large and has a tub and a whirlpool. Here you get a bathrobe and slippers and the slippers can go with you when you leave. There is in cabin television programs and a good selection of channels. You will find a Laundromat on each deck as well as handicap accessible cabins in most of the categories.

Entertainment

Be prepared to enjoy movies under the stars. This has got to be the best innovation on the high seas and this ship has it. This is a 300 square foot screen that will remind you of the drive in theatres of long ago. Watching a movie in the open air is an experience unto itself that you will surely enjoy. The Princess Theatre also offers stage productions or you can try a daytime Calypso Band by the pool. In the evening, the Grand Atrium offers the music of the Rosario Strings. Drop by the Vista or Explores to see individual performers or if country is your music then the Wheelhouse Boogie will keep you hopping until morning. Every night you will find something interesting to see and do.

This ship is certainly family friendly and you can see this by the programs that are in place by the staff. Island Night is proof of the entertainment for all the family where kids stay up as late as their parents. There are games and contests during the daytime for young and old alike.

The Lotus Spa is a place that you can’t miss. Here you will enjoy the massages as well as the steam baths and sauna that’s available. You will also find a beauty salon near by. The workout room also has a fine array of equipment to keep you in shape during your voyage.

There are five pools on the Grand Princess and each one has it’s own , such as the spa pool, which you will find relaxing. The Neptune Reef is always busy with families. The calypso reef is quieter and elegant and the Terrace Pool is for adults only. The Splash Pool is for the younger kids.

The dress code is smart casual and there are two formal nights on a seven day cruise where tuxes and gowns can be worn but suit and tie and dresses are perfectly acceptable. There is a $10.00 fee added to your onboard account per day to cover tipping with an automatic 15 percent tip added to any bar bill.
