Insignia Description

Insignia

There are three things that make the Insignia standout in the line of cruise ships and they are that it offers a mid ship experience for it’s passengers, it has up scale touches and it is offered at a price that is suitable to anyone’s pocket book. You are in for a cruise that will allow you open seating at the dinner table, a cruise that will allow affordable balconies and a wonderful itinerary. This ship has a Titanic stairway that will astound your senses , it has a wonderful library and service that would compare to any liner that sails out of port. All this is waiting for you to board on the cruise of a lifetime. You will love exploring 9 passenger decks of this ship and with a crew of 400 your needs will be taken care of from the time you board to the time you disembark.

Accommodations

Insignia has a total of 342 accommodations of which 62 are balcony suites,170 with balconies and an ocean view, 85 with no balcony but an ocean view and 25 inside cabins. The cabins are on the small side, but are beautifully decorated. You will also find beautiful duvets and lovely bedding and towels, and beds come in twin size that can be converted to queen if necessary.

The furnishings consist of a desk, a loveseat, built in cabinets and a television with a good selection of channels. The bathrooms are a little small, but comfortable with a shower. If you chose a suite then you will get more space and in addition a CD player as well as butler service.

Dining

There are four min dining rooms on this ship. You can pick your time and the option of who you want to dine with. The Grand Dining Room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although breakfast and lunch are great, dinner is the highlight of the day. All meals are served from simple foods to unusual, so you can be adventurous or stay with the standard meals.

Insignia offers alternative dining at Toscana and the specialty is an elegant Italian experience, but the multi course meals also offers the whole standards. Then there is the Polo Grill that offers a steakhouse cuisine. During the day you can also try the Terrace Grill, which will fulfil your hunger in between times and the Waves Grill serves the poolside if you want the ultimate in casual.

Tapas on the Terrace is very intimate at night when it is transformed from buffet to a very pleasing Spanish style café where you can experience seafood or beef tenderloin, and for afternoon tea try Horizon Lounge.

Entertainment

You can spend your days enjoying the many games available on this ship such as bingo, bridge games, art auctions and dance classes. Then there is Martini tasting and Internet classes, but both of these charge an extra fee.

For evening entertainment, you can drop by Martinis and at the Insignia Lounge you will find the main show of the evening, which offers comedy, song and dance. You are bound to have an unforgettable evening.

The Insignia has a pool as well as a full serviced spa that can take care of all the left over stresses. You will also find a steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, and whirlpools. There are group fitness classes weight machines as well as free weights, cardio equipment, jogging tracks, shuffleboard, ping pong, fitness evaluation and a personal trainer. A beauty salon will see to your needs and you’ll find much more.

This ship is not recommended for children under 16 as there are no children’s programs available. There are no formal nights on board so casual is the dress code. The tipping charge is $10.50 per person per day, which is payable on your onboard account.
