Expected to launch in May, 2007, Liberty of the Seas will likely have many of the same features and amenities as its sister ship, Freedom of the Seas. You will see the same entertainment lines, such as ice-skating and rock-climbing as well as the same restaurants and food choices. The FlowRider surf park is sure to be a hit with the younger generation and fun to watch for those that don’t like taking part. Men can get their hair cut as well as women and both men and women can work out in the boxing ring.
Accommodations
The enhanced bedding used in the cabins and staterooms will help you have a comfortable night’s sleep. This involves having thicker mattresses and 100% cotton linens. Enjoy the selection of channels on the flat screen TV or spend some time sitting on your balcony enjoying the view – that is if you choose a cabin with a balcony. There are several different categories in all types of cabins from family staterooms to inside and outside cabins. The Presidential Suite is enormous, but comes with a higher price tag as well. Here you have several bathrooms, a hot tub and your own bar.
Dining
Each level of the three decks of the main restaurant has its own name – Isaac’s, Galileo’s and Leonardo’s and you can dine on either one. The Windjammer serves food in buffet style and the Solarium Café is the place to go if you feel the need for a burger and fries. Chops Grill is the alternative restaurant and is conveniently located next to Johnny Rocket’s – the children’s restaurant. You do have to pay a surcharge to dine at the Grill as you do at Sorrento’s the Italian themed restaurant.
Entertainment
Take in a show at the Viking Crown Lounge or Studio B or sip a drink at Bolero’s or the Schooner Lounge. The Crypt is the place to go if you want to take in some disco and dancing, while the The Bull and Bear Pub and Vintages are the wine pubs on the ship. You don’t have to remember to bring your own books or rely on the library as there is a bookstore right onboard, called the Nook. It is located inside the promenade Café, where you can buy scrumptious pastries and coffee or tea.
At the pool, you can actually swim up the bar and sit on a barstool to order your drink. At the Water park, there are nightly performances and light shows that delight guests of all ages. If you have a talent (or think you do), you can entertain your fellow passengers at the Karaoke Bar.
This ship is designed for family cruising and as such offers a wide range of programs for children and teenagers. This gives both children and parents space apart to do their own thing.
