Majesty of the Seas Description

Majesty of the Seas

A clean and comfortable cruise ship awaits your arrival when you choose to book your cruise on the majesty of the Seas. Even though this ship is slated for refurbishment in 2007, you will find impeccable service onboard. There is an excellent children’s program so families can feel comfortable bringing their children with them. With the Internet station, you can keep in touch with home and send pictures of your adventures. There is a disco just for teens and two saltwater pools. Even though this ship is showing her age through stains on the carpet and upholstery, you will be quite pleased with the overall experience.

Accommodations

Compared to other cruise ships, the Majesty of the Seas has larger than normal staterooms. Of the 732 cabins with a view of the ocean, only 62 of them have balconies. The cabins in Category D are quite small and you may feel a bit cramped if you like to have a lot of space around you. No matter which category you choose, there are twin beds that convert to a queen, air conditioning that you can control in your room, a hair dryer, interactive TV, radio and telephone. For the physically challenged, there are four staterooms that are wheelchair accessible.

Dining

There are two main dining rooms on this ship – the Mikado and the maytime. Both of these have two seatings for dinner. The theme changes each night, giving you a chance to sample foods from all over the world and there is also a vegetarian and low fat menu to choose from. For breakfast enjoy the pastries in the buffet at the Windjammer or one of many other delectable choices for this time of day. This café opens at 4 a.m for late nighters or early risers.

Entertainment

Shop in the boutiques of the Centrium Atrium or have a relaxing massage at the spa, which is located in the same area. Casino Royale features many of the tables you would see in a larger venue and it is here that you can see how lucky you might be. For 50 cents a minute you can keep in touch with home via email or relax with a drink in the schooner bar. The Chorus Line Lounge is the venue for the main show of the evening with plenty of tables for two if you want to be alone in a crowd. Nightlife sparkles and shines at the Viking Crown Lounge with karaoke and dancing. Taste the delectable coffee at the Blue Skies Lounge and disco is the name of the game at the Paint Your Wagon Lounge.

During the day you can enjoy the standard games and contests and the Fitness center has more than enough equipment to help you stay in shape. Take classes in yoga or kickboxing or indulge in the training from your own personal trainer. There is also an open air basketball court on Deck 11.

Adventure Ocean will take care of the children to allow the parents to explore on their own. With programs geared to the age of the children, there is something here for everyone. Group baby sitting is also available and it must be booked 24 hours in advance.

The usual range of passengers on this ship is couples and families. The average age is between 30 and 50 who like an active cruise vacation. While the dress code for the majority of the cruise is country casual, there are two formal nights where men wear tuxedos or suits and the women wear fancy dresses.
