Norwegian Dream Description

Norwegian Dream

The Norwegian dream will take you on a dream of a lifetime and a voyage that will be unforgettable long after you have returned home. This ship appeals to people of all ages and offers activities, games, dining and entertainment and it starts from the moment you step onboard. Take part in shore excursions that will allow you to experience such things as snorkelling, diving, hiking, kayaking and so much more including a 24 hour fitness centre to cater to your needs. You will spend hours exploring the 10 passenger decks that this ship carries and be impressed with the crew of 700 as they astound you with the service they offer while you sit and wait to be pampered. This ship won’t give you elegance that you’re looking for, if that’s what you have in mind but it will give you an abundance of activities. The price is also very reasonable for what you are about to experience.

Accommodations

There are 15 accommodations with staterooms that are furnished very attractively. They have two lower beds that convert to a queen when necessary. You will find a bath with shower, hair dryer, your own thermostat to control the heat of your cabin, a duvet, TV and radio. The outside cabins measure 140 square feet with the standard outside cabin measuring 152 square feet and the Superior Deluxe measures 176 square feet. Then there are the Owner’s Suites which have such added features as living rooms, separate bedrooms, picture windows, fridges, stereo and CD library. These also have tub and shower and those on the Sun Deck have balconies.

If you get a stateroom on the Promenade deck you may be open to the joggers that like to exercise there. 41 of the category G cabins on the Norway deck do have window obstructions, and 41 category F on Norway deck and Promenaded decks have partially obstructed views.

Dining

You are about to experience fine food, fine service and the time of your life in the dining rooms on this ship and the views you will see tops it all off. You can have seating for 2, 4 or 8 whatever you feel in the mood for at the time in either of the three main restaurants aboard. Dining rooms are open from 5:30 to 12 pm every evening, with the last seating at 10 pm. The Sun Terraces seats 234 passengers and is the most intimate and the nicest restaurant followed by The Terraces, which seats 308. In both of these restaurants you will be exposed to fantastic views from the floor to ceiling openings up to the ships aft deck. The Four Seasons seats 452 passengers and has beautiful tables with glass on both sides.

If you delight in Italian food, then Le Bistro is the place for you. It is a reservation only restaurant and only seats 78 passengers, so you can see why you need to make reservations. There is also an additional fee to dine here, but it is well worth it. The Sports Bar will take care of breakfast, lunch and tea time if you wish and the Four Seasons offers breakfast and lunch. There is also a pool side snack bar where you can pick up a quick bite between meals. Watch out for the Chocoholic buffet at midnight where you can indulge in all the forbidden foods and love it. There is 24 hour room service on this ship and the service is outstanding.

Entertainment

Norwegian Dream excels in nightly entertainment and the crew is waiting to show you what they have in store. Drop by Smokey Joe’s Café and take in an entertaining production of the 50’s and 60’s hits, such as Hound Dog and On Broadway. Dance the night away at Dazzles Disco and watch the sunrise in the morning or if you’re an avid sports fan you can watch sports at the Sports Bar and Grill while you sip on a cool one. If this is not exciting enough for you, then try your luck at the Monte Carlo Casino, where you’ll find slot machines, blackjack, roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker and much more to give you an unforgettable time on board. If it’s scenery you’re interested in, then the Rendezvous Lounge is the best place to see it.

The library is small so maybe you should take your own reading material. You will enjoy the Internet Cafe if you want to email your friends back home. This ship has a fitness centre and although there are limited machines and space here, there is enough to help you keep fit during your voyage. You will find golf netting, volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard and ping pong. There are also two Jacuzzi’s , a sauna, beauty parlour and a massage parlour. The main pool is on Deck 11 and if you’re looking for more seclusion, then you can go to the one on Deck 9.

The Kid’s Crew Program is featured all year around. Babysitting is offered at $12.50 an hour and $25.00 in cabins with a minimum of 2 hours. Expectant mothers are not allowed to travel after 24 weeks into the pregnancy without permission from their doctor. The dress code on this ship is resort casual, but dressing up is an option that everyone has. The tipping guidelines are $3.50 per day for the steward - the same for the waiter and $2.00 a day for the bus boy.
