Norwegian Sun Description

Norwegian Sun

The Norwegian Sun was the first ship that started freestyle dining and every other ship in the fleet line has followed. It made its debut with 9 restaurants. This ship reeks of happiness and you feel it the moment you step on board. The staff is happy, the accommodations are great and the public areas are cheerful, which makes for very happy passengers. You will love exploring the brightly coloured 10 deck ship and you certainly will appreciate the 968 crew members that are on this ship with the intentions of aiming to please everyone of the passengers This makes for one fantastic voyage.

Accommodations

This ship has 968 accommodations of which 54 are Suites with balconies,378 have an ocean view with balconies, 243 have an ocean view with no balconies and there are 293 inside cabins, which makes a nice choice for everyone. The closet space is a little smaller than on other ships, but then there is a casual dress code which means you don’t have to take a lot of fancy clothes. The series of drawers and shelves really come in handy. In the rooms, there is a desk/vanity, with a cupboard above, television space, with more shelves and drawers underneath with other storage space as well.

The standard cabins have a bathtub which is very functional, lots of towels and a bath robe. Rooms that are called triples come with long sofas. Some of these are a double bed. The cabins with balconies are a little more spacious, due to the balcony.

Suites range from mini suites, which have luxurious bathtubs to Owner’s Suites with hot tubs and in suite lap tops. The top 20 suites get their own butler and all guests get the undivided attention of the concierge. There are bathroom amenities provided. There are 20 cabins that are handicap accessible and 42 for hearing impaired guests.

Dining

There are two main restaurants on the Sun. The Seven Seas serves contemporary food and the Four Seasons serves traditional food. Both places are attractive and serve excellent food. There are four more restaurants that do not have a surcharge, but if you dine at the Pacific Heights, they do require reservations. This place serves low fat and sodium dishes. The garden café serves buffet and it also the best spot for breakfast and lunch. The Great Outdoor Café serves fast food items, so if you get yearning for a burger and fries then this is the place for you.

Le Bistro offers French cuisine and do charge a surcharge for those that dine there. This restaurant is gorgeous. Another option is ll Adagio, which features Italian cuisine. Ginze serves an array of Japanese cuisine. Room service is available 24 hours, but it is fairly limited.

Entertainment

Norwegian Sun is waiting to do what they do best and that is to show you all the entertainment that is store for you on this trip. You’ll be seeing Broadway productions in the Stardust Lounge. Then there are the bars and Lounges around the ship that also provide their own entertainment with piano players, guitarists, and many more. You will even find a Reggae band by the pool. Visit Dazzles Nightclub, where, if you’re really lucky, you will see the Ship ‘n’ Males, which will keep you laughing all evening. Sun also offers the usual games and contests as you would expect to find an any cruise. Dazzles also shows a movie in the morning and afternoon.

There are two pools on this ship and four hot tubs. On the deck above, there is a kiddie pool and another hot tub. Body Waves Spa and Body Waves Fitness Centre is waiting for you and is all nicely equipped to help you stay fit during your voyage. Sun is a family orientated ship and has many kids’ programs to offer. The dress code is casual and the tipping is $10.00 per day per person, which will take care of everything.
