The Oriana went through a complete makeover in 2006 and is now awaiting your arrival to enjoy the renovations that have been made. This beautiful ship will take you to places that you\'ve only seen in your dreams and make your vacation a one-of-a-kind that will be talked about long after you\'ve returned home. As with all P&O cruise ships, you will find checking in to this one is a breeze and its crew will make sure that your trip with them is the ultimate in a vacation. You will find that most of the stuffiness is knocked out of these cruises and yet there is enough traditional left to make them enjoyable for those who enjoy an element of class. These elements are made up of afternoon teas and dressing up for dinner, but there are formal events are about four times per cruise. Tipping your Stewart or waiter is done at the end of the cruise by you personally. This ship is decorated with $4 million worth of work by Britain\'s leading artist. The stained glass circle centerpiece at the top of a three deck high atrium is quite impressive. This ship also boasts a seven foot ball field steel sculpture by Jon Ashworth and cityscapes in every suite.
Accommodations
With the renovations that were done the Oriana the cabins have new carpet, duvets, bed runners, curtains and color schemes. Each cabin is comfortable and cozy. There is lots of storage space for those who wish to bring extra clothing and there is also hanging space for the special clothing that you wear on formal nights. You will find that the bathrooms are very functional and with the larger suites a whirlpool bath with will be included.
Dining
Each evening an officer is allocated to a table where single travelers are sharing a table with two or three couples. This helps you to get acquainted with the people you\'re sitting with. There is a main restaurant plus two alternative restaurants where the food is excellent and the service is just as good. You can choose from a menu created by Gary Rhodes where nothing but the highest quality food is prepared. You can also enjoy a 24 hour dining service, but the most popular place to dine in the evening is under the stars. This is an experience that you won\'t forget. The Curzon Room was refurbished and renamed Oriana Rhodes. This 96 seat restaurant is the best you can experience in dining and before dinner you can drop into Tiffany\'s Bar for pre-dinner drinks.
Entertainment
This ship boasts two swimming pools, one of which is covered. There are also whirlpools, lavish spas, and state-of-the-art theater and show lounges. This ship has all the modern attractions that make cruising so popular with the new generation. Take part in tennis, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, art auctions and bingo.
