Pride Description

Seabourn Pride

Sail away on the cruise of your dreams when you choose to sail on the Seabourn Pride. Here everyone calls you by name, which adds a personal touch and the service is simply exceptional. Whatever you drink, the waiters will remember so that as soon as you sit down, your drink is at your hand. This ultra-luxury ship is one that certainly has repeat cruisers without a single complaint. Enjoy such delicacies as champagne and caviar, which is “on the house” and the only wines you have to pay for are those with Premium brand names. Tips are included in your fare and the classes at the fitness center are free. The whole ambiance of this ship puts you right at ease so you feel comfortable every second of the day. This cruise is designed for adults, although you will see families with children. When children are onboard, the crew will do what they can to accommodate them and keep them entertained.

Accommodation

You won’t find an inside cabin on the Seabourn Pride. All the cabins are outside with a view through a picture window. Thirty-six of the suites do have balconies with sliding glass doors. All the cabins are spacious with walk-in closets and large bathrooms. You don’t have to bring your hair dryer or your robe because these are provided for you. There is also a small sofa, a desk and twin beds that can convert to a queen. Fresh fruit and flowers arrive daily and you get a complimentary bottle of champagne when you arrive.

There are flat screen TV’s in all the rooms, as well as DVD players. There are a few in-house movies and the Bose Wave sound system is great for listening to CD’s. If you wish to entertain in your cabin, the room service will provide you with food and you can even have a selection of hors d’euvres delivered to your room.

Dining

You will have to dress for dinner in the main dining room, called the Restaurant. With the open seating you can sit wherever you wish and have animated conversations with different passengers each night. The multi-course meals consist of traditional and unusual foods to suit all tastes. There is always a chef’s selection as well as choices for those on a special diet.

If you don’t feel like dressing up for dinner, you can dine at the Veranda Café, which has themed nights. This gives you a chance to sample International cuisine and to eat outside if you wish.

Both restaurants offer breakfast and lunch with a small menu and buffet items. If you get hungry in the afternoon, make sure you attend the afternoon tea in the Constellation Lounge.

Entertainment

The Show Lounge is large enough to hold all the passengers with tables where you can sit and sip your drink. There is an Internet station to keep in touch with home, but it is expensive at $1 per minute. Check out a book from the library or take in a lecture on interesting topics. Cooking demonstrations, lessons in bridge wine tasting and golf putting competitions are some of the other activities that take place during the day. There are also movies in the afternoon and night and game show events. The shore excursions are the main hit when you are on the Seabourn Pride and passengers get one free shore event per cruise.

There is a water sports marina that is lowered when the ship is in port. Along with swimming in a mesh pool, you can take part in windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and a whole host of other sports.

The Seabourn Pride does have a swimming pool and three whirlpools and if you have aching muscles, you can avail of the free poolside massages. There is a fitness center with a workout area, treatment rooms, and a beauty salon. Take fitness classes in the traditional Yoga and Pilates, but try out Chi-Kung, a Chinese body movement designed to strengthen your muscles.

There are two formal nights on a week long cruise and 3 if you take a two week cruise. Men usually wear tuxedos to these events and women wear cocktail dresses or ball gowns. For the rest of the cruise the dress code is casually elegant.
