Queen Mary 2 Description

Queen Mary

This wonderful ship is waiting to sail you away on an adventure of a life time. The Queen Mary is charming as well as elegant. It can carry 2600 passengers and has a crew of 1215 waiting to pamper you and see to your every need. You will love exploring the 13 decks of the ship. The Queen Mary was built to carry passengers year round between Southampton and New York. She has thick steel plating and a long bow combined with powerful engines and will give you the ride of a lifetime. This ship is not only luxurious but also it’s a lesson in history. The Queen Mary 2 is the only ship that carries a planetarium in the Maritime Quest Exhibit. Almost everything you could want in a cruise ship can be found here.

The Queen Mary offers cruises during spring to fall that can take you from New York and you can stay onboard for a European cruise before returning to the United States. In the winter you can take a cruise out of Port Everglades and New York.

Accommodations

On the Queen Mary there are 1310 accommodations, which consist of 173 suites with balconies, 782 with balconies and an ocean view, 62 with no balconies but an ocean view, 281 inside cabins and 12 inside cabins with an atrium view. There are some suites that measure 2250 square feet and will make your voyage very comfortable.

This luxurious cruise ship carries all the amenities that are on today’s luxury liners and this ship is nothing short of spectacular. Some of the staterooms, such as two level duplexes, have their own exercise equipment.

In these duplexes you will have spacious living quarters upstairs and a expansive balcony downstairs. The luxurious master bedroom upstairs has two marble baths with separate whirlpools and shower. There is also a gust bathroom with a shower. The three duplex apartments have the same amenities. If you choose one of the s that are forward, you will enjoy an outstanding view, two full baths and even your own private elevator. The Royal suite measures in at an astounding 3,800 square feet. The standard staterooms are no less than 200 square feet.

Dining

On the Queen Mary you will be eating foods designed by the world’s most famous chefs. Lavish dining is one of the Queen Mary’s distinctive qualities. There are 10 restaurants in all overseen by head chef Daniel Boulud. Born of tradition, each stateroom is matched with a reserved table with a seaside view where you will be offered the largest wine selection afloat. However, you can make reservations at any of the other dining rooms or take advantage of the 24 hour room service that is offered. If you want to start your day a little more casual, then try breakfast at the King’s Court.

The Britannia Restaurant is the main dining room of the Queen Mary and is the tops in elegance and charm starting with the sweeping staircase, which is the ultimate for those wishing to make a grand entrance. The Princess Queen’s Grill restaurant, following tradition, is reserved for those that stay at the higher class suites. This too serves the best you can get in foods. The Todd English Restaurant will delight you with the food served there, such as Mediterranean cuisine. You can enjoy tasty lagers and ales while watching sports on TV at the Golden Loins Pub and if you really want to eat casual, try the Boardwalk Café, where you can eat at pool side in your swimming suit. For teas and pastries in the afternoon, drop by the Winter Garden and have a relaxing time.

Entertainment

The Queen Mary has 5 swimming pools for you to enjoy on your voyage, but this is not all. In addition to this you will find the Canyon Ranch Spa Club. Here you will experience the spa as you never have before. From stress relief to disease prevention and everything in between is available. There are 51 experts to guide you through what your body needs in this 20,000 square foot spa.

Another high light of the Queen Mary is the Planetariums- Illumination. Here you can take a virtual ride into outer space, view the stars or enjoy the other wonders that you will find here. This also functions as a cinema and has seating for 500.

The Cunard ConneXions an enrichment program where you can attend workshops, seminars and lectures. Take a walk into the past by visiting the Maritime Quest, where you’ll be taken on a guided tour back into the golden era of transatlantic cruising

The Queen Mary accommodates all ages. The Play Zone will be wonderful for your children and grandchildren on a voyage. This is a well run camp for ages 3 to 7, while the Zone entertains kids from the ages of 8 to 12. Here you get real English nannies for toddlers. These rooms are equipped with a fine array of games and toys to keep any child’s attention.
