Rhapsody of the Seas Description

Rhapsody of the Seas

The Radiance of the Seas is a floating ship of art with its million dollar art collection, although the Rhapsody’s low fares don’t show this. When you step on board this boat you will be astounded as you walk through the Centrum into a soaring seven deck atrium. See the breathtaking Diadem, which is the centre piece, but the whole ship itself is breathtaking. You’ll find something interesting around every turn of the 11 passenger decks that you will explore. This combined with the crew of 765 just waiting for your arrival to spoil you rotten will give you a trip that will go down in the history of your mind as being extraordinary.

Accommodations

Rhapsody carries a total of 999 accommodations for its passengers of which 97 are Suites with balconies, 132 have both balconies and an ocean view, 364 have no balconies but they do have an ocean view and there are 407 inside cabins.

The smallest cabins measure 150 square feet with plenty of storage space. They also have a small sitting area, television, telephones, a safe, and toiletries. The jogging area has a public room between it and the accommodations so noise won’t be a problem. You will find the service exceptional which seems to be the word for the whole ship.

Dining

The food is delicious and plentiful and you will leave the Rhapsody’s restaurants with a satisfied smile on your face. They also offer a Ship Shape menu for those that want to keep their diets in mind and there are vegetarians choices on every menu.

The Windjammer Cafe serves breakfast and lunch buffets and also serves a alternate evening meal with no reservations necessary. There is a 24 hour room service, although it is limited, but you can order dinner through the dining hours. Service is generally prompt when you order.

Entertainment

The Rhapsody Broadway Melodies Show Lounge is just as strikingly decorated as the rest of the ship and one of the most intelligently designed rooms as you’ll find anywhere. You can enjoy two production shows, three evenings of variety acts, and a farewell show on your cruise.

Enjoy trying out the casino with the many different betting tables and slot machines available. The staff are so friendly and helpful you will walk away a winner even if you lose. Again the décor of this room is out standing.

You will find a heated pool along with four hot tubs on the Rhapsody. Then there is the Solarium with a secondary pool and two more hot tubs, which is covered with a retractable roof. The Fitness Centre offers a more than adequate number of exercise equipment to keep you in shape on your voyage. Spend some time at the spa to relieve all the stresses you may have accumulated before boarding. The staff also run many games and contests in this area that you may really enjoy.

Rhapsody is very family orientated and it shows in the amount of programming that it has to offer to its young passengers. You will find group babysitting available as well as private babysitting, but with private babysitting it should be booked 24 hours in advance.

There are two formal nights on every cruise so you have to dress appropriately with the remaining nights calling for casual dress. Tipping is $3.50 per person per day for the dining room waiter with the same applying to the cabin steward, $2.00 par person per day for the assistant waiter and . 75 cents per person per day for the headwaiter. There is also a 15 percent charge to any bar bill.
