The Rotterdam offers the best of both worlds in a cruising experience. The Rotterdam can accommodate 1316 passengers and with a crew of 593 get ready to be pampered like you’ve never been pampered before. You will find the ultimate in dining, entertainment and accommodations on this beautiful ship. From its beautiful artwork to its just as beautiful décor every inch of this ship is a new discovery.
Accommodations
There are many different Suites you can choose from such as the Penthouse Veranda Suites that measure 1159 square feet. This space provides a king size bed, an oversized whirlpool bath and shower, a living room, a dining room, a dressing room, a private veranda, a pantry, a sofa bed that will accommodate two people, a mini bar, a fridge, a guest toilet and floor to ceiling windows for a priceless view. The Deluxe Veranda Suites also offer a good amount of space at 556 square feet. These have two lower beds that convert to a king, a whirlpool bath and shower, a large sitting area, a sofa that sleeps two people, a mini bar, a fridge and of course the floor to ceiling window.
Veranda Suites offer a queen size bed that converts to twins, a whirlpool bath and shower, a sitting area, a private veranda, a mini bar, a fridge and a floor to ceiling window. They measure 292 square feet. The large outside staterooms have partial or no view of the ocean and offer a queen size bed that converts to twin, a bathtub and shower and may have portholes versus the windows. All large or standard inside staterooms have showers in the bathrooms and no ocean view. They measure 182 square feet.
Dining
You will find yourself answering to the call of the chime masters for evening dining. There are four sittings which makes it easier to choose. La Fontaine is the main dining room on this wonderful ship and what a dining room it is offering you dining delights that will leave you with a smile on your face. You can enjoy all this with your favourite bottle of wine. You are in store for a five course meal that is as excellent as the servers that brings it to you. The wine list is very extensive so your choices are not limited. It would be wise to make all dining reservations as soon as you board.
You will need reservations for the Pinnacle Grill and it will be well worth the effort as you dine in lavish luxury. This is where the candlelight and fine décor are to be found at their best. This is the home of the highest quality food served on the best china. If you’re looking for a romantic evening, then this is the place to start.
For not so formal dining you can try the Terrace Grill which you’ll find at pool side and swimsuits are acceptable and welcomed. You will find children’s menus with foods that kids love such as hot dogs, hamburgers and tacos. The Lido Restaurant not only offers a relaxed atmosphere, but it also offers an ocean view that goes very well with any meal. Here you can order carved meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables and much more to satisfy the pickiest of taste.
Entertainment
The beautiful Queen’s Show Lounge provides Las Vegas style productions that will thrill you. They also offer talented vocalists, illusionists, comedians and many variety acts. The Crow’s Nest is an exciting place day or night. The view from up here during the day is astounding and is a good place to relax and watch the world go by. However in the evening you will find it changes its mood into a place that comes alive with music and fun to keep you dancing to the wee hours of the morning.
The Greenhouse Spa is the ultimate in relaxation and after you get finished in one of its treatment rooms you will find it was well worth the effort to make this a place to be. Before you drop by the spa you can visit the fitness centre, which has a wide variety of exercise equipment waiting for you. After this you can jog around the track and take a swim in one of the pools. For your beauty needs there is a beauty salon. Drop by the Explorations Café if you’re looking for some quiet time. Here you can enjoy a coffee while you browse through your newspaper and if you’re an avid reader you’ll be trilled with the selection of books you will find in the library.
This ship is definitely family friendly and it shows in the list of activities that are offered for the children that are on board. There is a Club Hal for children 3 to 7, a Club Hal for children 8 to 12 and another for teens ages 13 to 17.
