Seven Seas Mariner Description

Seven Seas Mariner

In the world of bigger and better, the Regent Cruise Line has a unique idea of building medium size ships and reducing passenger loads that give service that is attentive. The Seven Seas Mariner is such a ship and is gracious with an environment that is far from being over crowded to give you an unforgettable experience in cruising. The style of the ship is classic without seeming to be a imitation of the past and very sophisticated without pretence. The eight passenger decks that she carries with delight you at every deck you see as well as the 445 crew members that are there to spoil you rotten.

Accommodations

The Mariner has a total of 350 accommodations for their passengers and all of them are suites with balconies, which makes a nice advantage in today’s market. This ship has no rooms that are under 301 square feet. They all have balconies and walk in closets and you won’t find an obstructed view in any of them.

The décor is wonderfully unique and the bathrooms have marble trim. All rooms have furnished balconies and the rooms include a bathroom with tubs and showers, robes, hair dryers, television and VCR combos, fridges, safes, telephone and toiletries. The largest suite measures 2002 square feet and they include butler service that will take care of all your needs. There are six suites that are handicap accessible.

Dining

The Compass Rose is the main dining room and this room stretches right through the ship. It offers open seating and you will find the food and the service impeccable. This restaurant serves breakfast and lunch as well as dinner and all is ordered directly from the menu. La Veranda serves a buffet for lunch and dinner and has an overwhelming amount of choices. There is also a light and healthy menu. La Veranda also serves breakfast for the early risers and you can order from the menu here too if you wish. In the evening, La Veranda changes her face and becomes a Mediterranean bistro, which is the Mariner’s alternative casual dining room.

The Signature has the distinction of being the only Cordon Bleu restaurant at sea and it is no surprise that it is the top on everyone’s list of where to dine, but you do have to book reservations to dine here. Latitudes offers a selection of dining where there is a little of every food for every place this ship line goes. There is no additional charge to dine at either one of these restaurants. There is a 24 hour room service and you can order from the Compass Rose during dinner hour.

Entertainment

The Constellation Theatre is the main show lounge and you will be absolutely impressed by the design used here with it’s nearly perfect sight lines. The ship offers the usual games and contests, but you will also find it is not at the traditional times as other ships, which also makes it a little less hectic. There is also a small casino onboard with a impressive amount of tables and slot machines, but here again this is only open for 4 hours during the afternoon and reopened at 9 pm in the evening. There are pianists and other entertainers in the lounges

The Carita Paris Spa will take care of all your left over stresses and then some. This spa offers a salon, sauna, steam baths and massages and much more and all of this can be ordered for in suite for s fee. The Fitness Centre has enough equipment to take care of all your fitness needs during a cruise along with a jogging track that will get you up and going in the morning. There is a main pool with three whirlpools as well.

You will find very little to occupy children on this ship, which is definitely geared for adults. There are two formal nights which call for tux and gown or dark suit, tie and dresses. The rest of the time you can enjoy country club casual. Tipping is not required on this ship although you can tip if you want.
