Silver Cloud Description

Silver Cloud

A small intimate cruise is what the Silver Cloud will offer you with its capacity for 296 passengers in 148 staterooms. This ship was launched in 1994 and travels to many exotic destinations over the course of the year. These include Africa, Asia, the Mediterranean, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. This cruise is ideal for couples looking for exceptional food and service and the chance to be alone or converse with others on the high seas. Explore the 6 decks and delight in being pampered by the crew.

Accommodations

Most of the staterooms on the Silver Cloud have a veranda and those that don’t still have an ocean view. All of then feature walk-in closets, TV’s with free movies you can check out of the library, a sitting area with a desk and a coffee table. The beds can easily convert from twin to queen and boast downy pillows and cotton linens. Although the marble bathrooms are small, they so come with hair dryers, bathrobes and an array of amenities. The staterooms do vary in size with the smallest being the Vista suites at 295 square feet and the largest being the Royal Suites measuring over 1000 square feet. The prices of these also vary so the one you choose will be determined by your budget.

Dining

If you want to dine on heavenly cuisine, then the Silver Cloud is the ship for you. There is only one seating in the main dining room for dinner, but there is plenty of room and the waiters are super attentive. All drinks on this ship and free and wine is served with all meals. Many of the passengers like eating breakfast on their own verandah, but others partake of the buffet served at the Terrace Restaurant. Although lunch is also served in the main restaurant, the Terrace also serves this meal. For a light lunch, try the fast food at the Grill and the 24-hour room service is the best of any cruise ship.

Entertainment

Sit back and sip your drink while enjoying the panoramic view from the Panorama or Observation Lounges. In the Venetian Lounge you can enjoy a movie or an evening show. If you like to be where the action is, then drop into The bar for pre dinner drinks and animated conversation.

During the day the activities onboard run the usual gamut of lectures, games and contests. Take golf lessons from pros and in the evening there are magicians, comedians or you can cozy up with a good book from the library. The casino is small, but there is always the chance that you will win big.

There is a gym on the Silver Cloud, but it is small and seems to have too much equipment crammed into the small space. Although there are fitness classes, they can only accommodate about six people at a time. However, the spa is perfect with massages and treatments and there is also a sauna and steam bath. Take a dip in the pool or soak up the rays on the deck, where you will find plenty of space.

The usual passengers on this ship range from 40 and up. They are well-travelled and used to the cruising experience.
