Are you looking for a cruise with a lesser number of passengers than usual, but with more enjoyment options? If you are, then the Silver Whisper is for you. The atmosphere is one of rest and relaxation, pampering and casual elegance. Here you get all-inclusive hospitality and service in both the onboard experience and the shore excursions. Although you may see children on this cruise, parents are expected to provide the entertainment for them, as there are no special programs for children. The majority of the passengers on this cruise are in the 30 age range. The dress code is always elegant and there are two formal nights on board.
Accommodations
Eighty per cent of the suits on board have verandahs. Even the basic suites are quite spacious and are elegantly decorated. There are sitting areas in all suites, as well as a writing desk, twin beds that convert to one queen and for unpacking, there are walk-in closets. The bathrooms, too, are roomy, with separate showers and tubs. If you want a suite that is a little larger, try the Owners’ suites, where you will find a living room with a bar, a big-screen TV and even your own dining room.
Dining
Dine in style for three meals of the day at the Restaurant or try something more casual at the terrace. The terrace features more of a buffet style, while the Restaurant has a formal menu for you to choose from. You can also dine by the pool when you choose the Poolside Grill, which serves fries, burgers and other fast food.
For dinner at the Restaurant, you will be delighted with the six course menu, which includes a vegetarian menu. The Silver Shadow boasts guest appearances by famous chefs from all over the world, so dining her is a culinary delight. At the Terrace Café there are themed menus allowing you to sample food from all over the world. If you prefer to eat late at night or even dine in your room, you can still order from the restaurant menu through the 24-hour room service.
Entertainment
Play cards in the Card Room, enjoy the panoramic vistas from the Promenade or Observation Lounges or try your luck in the casino. At the Viennese Lounge is the venue for large-scale productions, cooking demonstrations and lectures about points of interest on the shore excursions. There are two stores on this ship, where you can buy expensive clothes and jewellery. The Silver Shadow also has an Internet station where you can check your email and keep in touch to let those at home know what a good time you are having.
From live music in the evenings to puppet shows, the entertainment is designed to suit all tastes. Play volleyball, learn how to play bridge or even indulge in a wine tasting event.
At the Mandara Spa, you can pamper yourself with a wide variety of massages and treatments with a Pacific influence. Although these treatments are a little more expensive than on other cruise ships, the result is well worth the extra cost. There is a large pool and two adjoining whirlpools as well as a fitness center complete with a fitness instructor.
