Splendour of the Seas Description

Splendour of the Seas

Whether you are a newbie at cruising or a veteran you will have an unforgettable journey on this wonderful ship. Splendour of the Seas is a ship that has a wide variety of activities and entertainment and it’s all waiting for your arrival. There is adventure and fun for anyone that comes aboard and one of the highlights as you board will be the seven story lobby that is spectacular. This is the first of many surprises that Splendour holds. It also carries an 18 hole golf course for the avid golfer. Explore the 11 passenger decks when you start your voyage and see something new around every corner. This, combined with the crew of 720 members that live to pamper you, will make this the cruise of a lifetime.

Accommodations

Splendour boasts a total of 902 accommodations for its passengers. Of these 157 are suites with balconies,75 have balconies and an ocean view, 343 have no balconies but an ocean view and 327 are inside cabins. The inside cabins measure in at 150 square feet, which you’ll find comfortable and cosy. Even the small cabins boast a sitting area. You will find there is lots of storage space and all cabins feature televisions, telephones, a safe, hair dryers and toiletries. The service to these cabins is beyond excellent.

Dining

The food on the Splendour of the Seas is exceptional with a vegetarian menu included. The Windjammer Café serves both breakfast and lunch buffets and in the evening it serves an alternate dining experience at dinner where no reservations are necessary and the dress code is casual. There is also a 24 hour room service although the menu is limited it will surely get you through any midnight snacking or the need to munch between meals.

Entertainment

The sightlines in the 42nd Street Theatre are excellent and one of truly great designs. Wherever you sit in this fabulous theatre the sightlines are perfect. The sitting is based on banquettes which makes entering and exiting the rows very easy. In a one week cruise you can expect one show with a name entertainer, two production shows, three variety acts and a farewell show. You will find the casino entertaining and loads of fun as you try out one of the many betting tables you find there or maybe one of the many slots.

Try thee large heated pool that is surrounded by four hot tubs. The Solarium holds a secondary pool with two more hot tubs for your enjoyment. This area is covered with a retractable glass roof. The gym is well equipped to take care of your exercising needs. There are plenty of games and contests run by the friendly staff both on the sea days and the days you go ashore.

Splendour also has an outstanding program for children and families are always welcome. The program is called Adventure Ocean and this is exactly what your little ones will get to keep them busy from the time they board to the time they disembark. Babysitting is available for a fee both with groups or private babysitting.

There are two formal nights with every cruise where the dress code calls for a tux or dark suit for men and dress or gowns for women. The rest of the time it is casual. Tipping is $3.50 per person per day for the dining room waiter and the cabin steward, $2.00 per person per day for the assistant waiter and seventy five cents per person per day for the head waiter. A 15 percent tip is added to all bar bills.
