Vision of the Seas Description

Vision of the Seas

The Vision of the Seas is one ship where you won’t miss a thing with over two acres of glass used in the ships design. So there are not many places that you can’t see the wonder views of the outside world whether it is the blue ocean as you sail by or scenery of one of the many ports as you sail into the harbour. In addition to this, the ship itself has a Centrum that is seven stories high and a 18 hole golf course onboard. This ship is out to give you the experience of a lifetime and a trip that will be talked about long after you return home. Explore this ship’s 11 passenger decks with a different view around every corner. Combine this with a friendly crew of 742 members who are waiting to pamper you like you’ve never been pampered before and you have a cruise that is definitely a winner.

Accommodations

Vision carries a total of 999 accommodations of which 97 are suites with balconies, 132 with balconies and an ocean view, 366 with no balconies but an ocean view and 407 inside cabins. There are seventeen grades of cabins on this ship ranging from three and four family berths to twin insides, sea view outsides and balconied staterooms. The standard balcony suites have TV, telephone, a safe and hairdryer, private bath and shower. The higher grade suites have a bathtub plus a shower and mini bars. You will find ample storage space in all cabins.

Dining

The Aquarius offers a grand staircase in its two tier dining room. It is also surrounded by huge elegant windows that gives you breathtaking views. There is traditional seating here for all meals. This restaurant also offers a wonderful selection of food which is as excellent as the servers that serve the food.

The Windjammer serves buffet meals. Here you can get breakfast and lunch as well as dinner. The Solarium Café serves the foods that everyone loves such as pizza, hot dogs and burgers. You will also have access to 24 hour room service, which is limited but will certainly do for a quick snack.

Entertainment

The Masquerade Theatre offers production shows along with comedians, singers, magicians and impressionists. Some Enchanted Evening and the Viking Lounge offer a night of dancing to live music or taped music. The Schooner Bar offers a pianist that will tickle your fancy as he tickles the keys. You will also find piano music in the Centrum or the Champagne Bar.

During the day there is plenty to do with the games and contests, plus volleyball, basketball, ping pong, treasure hunts, lectures and beauty demos or you can drop by the pool that is surrounded by four whirlpools.

The Solarium Fitness Centre and Spa is waiting to show you what it has in store for you in its relaxation room where a wall of water trickles down with a very soothing sound. There is a large well equipped gym to see to all your fitness needs and massages are available at a price. If you’re really into fitness, you can try their 30 foot rock climbing wall.

Families with children are welcome on Vision. This shows in the amount of programming in place to keep the kids busy through the voyage. This includes children of all ages that includes carnival night, treasure hunts, talent shows, dance lessons and PlayDoh sculptures.

On this voyage there is no need to tote a tux or gown with you just something in a smarter outfit. The dress code on this ship is casual and smart casual. Tipping is $3.50 per person per day for the dining room waiter and the cabin steward, $2.00 for the assistant waiter and seventy five cents for the headwaiter per person per day. All bar bills have a 15 percent tip added to them.
