Welcome aboard for the cruise of a lifetime on the Volendam. This delightfully elegant ship will sail away and into the cruise of your dreams with much to offer anyone that comes on board. The food is excellent as well as the service that is brought to you by the 647 members that call this ship home. This ship carries 1,440 passengers and gives you many decks to explore with something new at every turn. She offers spacious Suites and flowers and tapestries are in abundance on this floating wonder. See art work at every corner. Whatever your dream of a cruise is you will find it on this ship with the amount of amenities that she offers.
Accommodations
The accommodations on this ship are comfortable and spacious with a fine choice regardless of your budget starting with the beautiful Penthouse measuring 1159 square feet. It offers a king size bed in its own bedroom, an oversized whirlpool bath and shower, a living and dining room, a dressing room, a private veranda, a pantry, a sofa bed that sleeps two people, a mini bar, a fridge, a guest toilet and awesome floor to ceiling windows. The Deluxe Veranda Suites offers two twin beds that convert to a king with the bedroom and sitting area combined. There is also a sitting area as well as the same bathrooms as the Penthouse. The measurements on this Suite is 556 square feet. The Veranda Suite has two twin beds that convert to a queen, a whirlpool bath and shower, a sitting area, a private veranda, a mini bar, a fridge and all the ocean you could want to see through the floor to ceiling windows. Large Outside Staterooms have a bathtub and shower with some having fully obstructed views. The measurement of these are 197 square feet while the inside cabins measure 182 square feet which still gives you lots of room to move around.
Dining
The main dining room on the ms Volendam is the Rotterdam Dining Room and you will find the food as excellent as the service that’s provided here. They offer a five course meal that is served on the best of china which is placed on crisp white linen. You will find low carb meals offered as well as vegetarian. The wine list is extensive and not to be found on any other cruise line. There are servers that are wine experts to help you choose the right wine to compliment the wonderful food.
If you are looking for an evening of romance then you couldn’t find a better choice than the Pinnacle Grill. The ambiance of this room is bar none and you will feel it as soon as you enter. Soft candlelight will embrace you as you dine on the most exquisite foods that can be served and drink from a wine list that is as extensive as any place onshore. The décor reeks of romance and you can just wallow in it’s glow.
For a little more relaxed atmosphere you can dine at the Lido Restaurant where there is a full menu offered. Start your day out here by ordering breakfast and then drop by for lunch. The Terrace grill is a very casual place to dine and offers things such as hot dogs, burgers and tacos.
Entertainment
If you’re concerned about taking the kids you can be assured that this cruise liner has not left them out. They have designed a loft for teens where they can let loose and dance to state of the art sound systems and laser lighting. The Oasis offers a place to hang out with many activities offered to keep them busy.
For the older ones the fun can start with a visit to the Crow’s Nest where you will watch the dance floor explode into a mirage of state of the art sound and lighting. You can dance the night away to the wee hours of the morning. The Crow’s Nest is used as an observatory during the day where you will see some spectacular views of the ocean. Drop into the casino where you can a night of fun and laughs and if you’re a serious gambler then there are provisions made for credit prior to sailing. You can go in formal or sports attire and there are many tables and slots offered as well as other entertainment.
If you feel a little uptight you can get the ultimate in relaxation at the Greenhouse Spa and Beauty Salon. Here magic fingers will ease all you tension away . They offer many forms of treatment so you can choose how to lose the stresses. From massages to aroma therapy this place has it all. To keep fit during your voyage Volendam offers state of the art exercise equipment and a jogging track. After you are through with all these activities then cool of in one of the pools on the ship.
